🫣WHAT HAPPENED TO CRICUT? 🫣

I haven't been on in months, got on last weekend I was lost, dumbfounded, at a lost for words and felt like an absolute new beginner. Then I can't figure out why overtime I sign on it seems as if it's the first time, now the machine won't calibrate. I'm just at a lost and ready to throw it out the window and go with something else, I to have canceled my subscription.

I thought it was my computer a virus that was lagging to load. I was thinking about purchasing a Mac. I wish it would allow you to actually remove back ground of uploaded images, break down images by color or make it simpler. List why it can’t slice, so you’ll know what to do next. Give suggestions as you’re creating a project. Or even give short animated videos of how to remove background in order to slice. Just elementary ideas. A little thumbnail tag video options.

I have worked on projects for hours to get it just right for it to disappear. I have cried so much. I really appreciate you doing this video because now I know it isn't just me. Thanks!

I have a silhouette and just purchased my cricut explore 2 and from day one I have not been able to get a good calibration and I have wasted sooooo much material and I am losing the interest in doing beautiful creations that I truly enjoy doing everyday. Is there anything I can do that I am possibly doing incorrectly? Please help me because I am ready to give up on this machine. Thank you 😊

I gave up on cricut after 4 years as the print and cut was way off ... Its 100% siser juliet for me plus we see demos almost every week from the actual employees of siser ... But the machines juliet and romeo blow cricut out the water ....

Oh man, you are sooooo on point here. I agree, we never used to have a lot of issues with Cricut it was a smooth crafting process and user friendly. Now, with each upgrade, which by the way are happening far too often, there are a new set of issues. Some of the great tools they had, like the finer tuning when uploading images, are no longer available. It has gone from good to bad to worse. I get so frustrated when I see all the Cricut users defending and praising Cricut, for whatever reason, this does not serve the greater number of cricut users who feel judged when trying to point out their errors on their official facebook page. I have invested so much in their machines ( i have 5 machines) and products that it is not that simple for me to walk away from them and I have no choice but to put up with the inadequacies. Although the CEO professes to be for the people its just a money making racket. Some of the older machines although still in perfect operating functions cannot be used as they are not supported by Cricuts software. This too will happen to the current machines sooner rather than later. This video should be sent to Cricut.

After a few months of being too busy to use my Cricut and Design space, I set out to make some things. Had to redownload DS on all my computers just to learn that my computers are no longer compatible with Design Space. My computers are not that old, some Windows 10 and some up to date Macs. One purchased last year and now I can't run Design Space or use my Cricut????!!!! What is happening??? I am not buying a new laptop just for this. What can we do?

See the problem is i been useing my moms sister cricut and the lid broke where now it wont open on its own but make a loud brakeing noise

I had just figured out my Cricut maker and then all the updates started happening and I got so frustrated that when we moved I didn’t set it back up right away. Then I set it up again determined and was more frustrated than ever… still am. Get it together Cricut. We spend too much money on your products for you to have chaos! We love crafting….Thanks!

I would like Cricut to work on the machine that they have out already and make them better like the rollers issue and to make the Cricuts repairable they are double the amount in AUSTRALIA then in the USA the great thing for us here is that we have a 2 year warranty on all electronics

I can no longer get to my projects. They all have a message that it’s a private account. I can’t edit my previous projects. Very frustrating. I’ve reached out and their fix idea did not work. If anyone has had the same issue I’d love to hear how you fixed it.

Thank you for addressing this!!! You nailed it, it used to be so much better when they rolled things out. The updates have not been smooth. They need to get better. Now it's a crap shoot on what will happen.

I have a question if anyone can help. I have a cricut explore air 2, I hardly ever use it. I decided to use it today, and ended up on the phone with cricut for over 2 hours and my machine still is messed up. So when you set the machine to custom, and I go to make it, it automatically says paper. It won't load the custom screen. All the other buttons work. They told me that it might be a bad dial. I don't understand how that can be it when I hardly use this thing. Can anyone help?

I did not realize such a large issue. I was frustrated two weeks ago , I told them not to renew my current membership for Design Space when it ends. It is not relaxing or enjoyable to use it as it is now. I have had a Cricut Machine, since it was originally launched over a decade ago. What a shame to let Cricut go down the tubes

Just today I had a big problem with it just randomly dragging the knife all over the project. Of course I didn't notice until a 12x24 mat full of the last of my blue was 80% done.

I don't even know how to use 12-in material in my 13-in machine, no matter what I do it gets all jacked up

I’m a huge Cricut fan. 20 years strong. I have all machines except Venture. I create everyday. I have no problems EVER. EVER. It logs on and fires up every single time. Perfect cutting. Every time.

Honestly, ive had enough of Cricut, I honestly wanted to do workshops locally to teach crafting using cricut and the amount of unreliability of this machine has presented me, made me just throw the idea off. Im thinking of switching to silhouette.

Hi,interesting video and comments.I just wonder,can design-space be used offline? Could this be a way to avoid updates and lagging due to internet bottlenecks? I recently bought a cricut maker 3,and have not had time to use it yet........

Thank you. I have had a cricut since the very first one was put out. I have not been able to use my Explore for the last month. It says machine not detected use blue tooth. The Explore does not have bluetooth and Cricut does not sell the adapter any longer.

I can't even use my Cricut right now--it keeps saying download the latest version, I do, I restart everything, and I get the same message--in an endless, frustrating loop. AND there is no one to reach out to for help...incredibly frustrating. Why doesn't someone else come out with a good cutting machine? Competition is a good thing!

I unsubscribed from Design Space because the little rubber roller feet became warped and there was no easy way to replace them. I don’t think a person should have to take the entire machine apart to replace them. But I also had issues with the cutting before the roller issue. So my barely used machine is now an expensive dust collector on my desk.

There are many people that I know that have Cricut machines that use Silhouette design studio. They say that it is so much easier than using design space and it is free.

The software is the worst. The constant no Internet connection, the changes to editing before adding file to the canvas. Such as unable to increase view and be able to scroll back and forth when view is increased. The contour tool needs alot of work. The bugginess where sometime things work and sometimes they don't. Print and cut, would be nice to print a full sheet. Even with the new changes, it still leaves alot to be desired. The rollers are awful and i constantly have to put them back in place. Since my rollers messed up, i have considered when it's time for a new one that i may move on to another machine such as Siser or Silhouette. The only thing that holds me back is thinking about how much money i have spent on blades and accessories that will not work with any other machine. Jury is still deliberating.

Can the Crucuit Mini model CMM1001 that requires the Windows XP be updated for making t-shirt designs with present day computers?

Cricut is so far behind in technology it is unreal. I have a Silhouette, I mostly use it for the software, Business edition. I can save and share stuff with it, not Cricut though. Which is BS. I paid for the darn thing, it is mine, I pay a subscription monthly, let me have the stuff I make to save it to my computer, laptop, etc! I hate the Silhouette for cutting, I do think Cricut is easier to use, and cuts better. I rarely, if ever use the Silhouette. Just the software, and then cut it with my Cricut. Cricut is also horrible with shipping out products ordered on their site. Absolutely ridiculous, the customer service is incredibly horrible as well. There are so many complaints on the BBB website about Cricut, and their responses are a joke to the complaints. They have no intentions of helping anyone with issues.

YES!, thank you , ALL THAT IS HAPPENING TO ME EVERYDAY!. I'm even getting a note b4 it opens that it's not gonna fully work😮? I just bought a cameo second hand, and I'm learning how to use it, since Cricut is going crazy and it's not getting better, just worse.....

HELP!!! After I watched this shortly after it was posted and pulled up a couple of my previous (to the changes) projects and kind of got them to work, I put it all aside. I bought a new computer for all this! Anyway, today I had to install DS updates and now I cannot use DS with ANY of my existing projects!!! It won't let me choose the correct Cricut machine, says my design was not MADE on the existing computer and I need to change the existing design selections. So I go from my new Windows Computer to my MAC where I made these projects and Design Space is totally missing!!!! So I download it to use and no matter what I do, the MAC download says it won't work on my MAC computer!!!! I have put in a help ticket but haven't heard anything back. Are all my designs gone forever? I can see them there. Can I no longer use DS on my MAC???? I thought this was a cloud based program you could use on MAC, Windows or phones if you have an account. I am SO discouraged I want to dump my Cricut!!!

I LOVE the Cricut Maker 3 and the Joy Extra and Design Space. My experience has been that some card designs will not cut properly. Also, I have tried to use some designs added to Design Space by guest designers. They also will not cut properly or there are no directions so I had to give up making the card. My other frustration is when I try to load the mat into the Joy Extra, it takes me 2 minutes or more to get it to load. This happens every time I need to load a different mat. I am not using the Design Space every day so I don't seem to notice the glitches you talked about. I will need to pay more attention to problems when I notice them.

An additional comment. I now understand why there are problems with the software. Going public usually ruins a great company The stockholders do not care about the quality only the profit. Look at what happened to Boeing!

I have been noticing issues for awhile. I don't have a lot of time to really get it and do a lot of things. And what I do know I have really thought myself. The update where they will break down your image into several.layers has really got me upset. I would do a lot with single color pictures and could clean them up pretty easily. Not now! The single option looks awful. You can't even use it. Then on the layers. The underneath layer is all jaggedy just like it is in the single layer. I even tried to reach out to them about the issue but never got a response from anyone.

Hi Tanner. I love your videos. I have learned so much from you and how to use my Cricut Maker 3. I consider myself a beginner even though I have had my machine for a few years. The reason being that I have walked away from it, and came back to it several times out of complete frustration. When I first got my machine, it worked very well. This machine is expensive (for someone who's using it as a hobby) and getting the material needed etc. is also expensive. This is not my issue... My true issue is having issues after issues with my machine. I just purchased basswood at the thickness required, I got a "Cricut Brand" knife blade. And my machine refuses to recognize the blade. I am beyond frustrated and now considering getting a laser cutter. I really REALLY wanted to use my Cricut for so many things. I'm discouraged, I'm frustrated, and I honestly just would love for my machine to stop ripping my vinyl, for it to actually work with the basswood and the knife blade and for the intricate cards that I want to make for my wedding to actually be cut well and not ripped. I follow the directions and have used new mats, new blades etc. The last thing I'd like to say, is like you... I LOVE Cricut. My issues are not with design space but rather the equipment. My knife blade sits so low that it gets caught in the mat... let alone the wood sheet. I am just so tired... I want to use it... Sorry for going on and on... this is just very disappointing.

I know you've decided that Cricut is where your bread is buttered because they have the market and mindshare, but your shade at Silhouette Studio is petty and misguided.

You absolutely DON'T need to be a professional graphic designer with mad Adobe Illustrator skills to use Silhouette Studio. If you ARE, the program has power and depth that Cricut Design Studio simply doesn't have. But if you're a rank beginner, just using the most basic features, Silhouette Studio is STILL more capable and use-friendly. (Their machines are better as well, bit that's for a different podcast.)

Thanks for putting this out there. I have gotten to the point where I have just accepted the glitches. Sometimes to the point of simply giving up on my projects. Then I just don’t go back k to using my cricut for quite awhile. I’m not sure when you put this video out, but I’d love to know if you have gotten a response from Cricut .

The fact that u need to have a subscription to get access to designs I’d very money hungry on cricuits part.

Lack of support for linux, ridiculous. That goes for all the cutting machine makers. There is no excuse for this industry wide failure.

Why doesn't the app have the foil feature for the cricut joy xtra.? Is there a workaround for it, Tanner? I recently bought the cricut joy xtra.
