How were Brad and the others even responding to his questions if they don't speak Italian?

Btw considering that not even American actors can imitate the British accents and intonations *of the same language*, it is just mind-blowing that Landa is able to speak three languages with a perfect accent. Especially the italian one, in this scene, the actor claimed tha he isn't fluent in Italian and yet he nails a natural fluent italian accent. That is mind boggling.

And this, kids, is what teachers are hearing when you try to wing your oral exam. You might feel you nailed it, but actually you just exposed yourself as a total dumbass.

I am Italian and fhe first time I saw this scene with the original audio English version I found it brilliant.

Hans Landa immediately recognise the trio as impostors as they speak Italian with strong american accent. Landa on the other side is fluent and has a far better pronunciation, close to the Italian one.

I also like to see how Hans Landa is playing with his victims by making them repeat their names. He pretends not to understand Italian well but in reality he is just making fun out of them as they pretend to be Native Italians by speaking with strong american accent.

And this is very clear when he says “bravo” to “De Cocco”, as he managed to pronounce his name with somewhat Italian accent after just 2 attempts, while his friends failed miserably in this task🤣🤣

Anyway, great actor and great performance.

As a German, I can confirm. We do indeed not have an ear for Italian. Except for Waltz, of course.
