I would like to know about if a bunny comes down with an infection, are there antibiotics kill the germs and help them get healthy again?

Hi Sarah! What do you do with kits that are no longer alive? Any reason not to bury them in the garden to feed the soil?

I was under the impression that the mom will abandon or eat her babies if they’re touched.. but you say to do it every day after the first 24 hours?

God did not intend for us to raise animals in small cages. repent of this cruelty. if this animal must be subject to this life , then all rabbits should be let free. most humans would prefer exinction over living in a small cage. This is EVIL and sick to justify and defend keeping animals in small cages even if it meant protection of any sort...AS a means of excuse just to keep them for meat.

So very interesting BUT I don’t think I could kill them. I’m so spoiled! Meat comes covered in plastic wrap from the grocery store 😂

One of our rabbits had her first litter 3 weeks ago, but she killed them all. I took the nesting box out, but 5 days later she had another litter! Those all died, too 😢

My 3 New Zealand doe's gave birth in 10°F and did very well. 21 bunnies and only 2 died. They are 7 weeks old and will be harvested in 3 weeks. We are keeping a doe and a buck to breed. Thanks for the help!

You have a lot of animal noise in the background . I hope you realize that more then 5% meat in the diet is a major contributor to cancer . Great China study t collin Campbell Harvard.

Weird question but Ive never heard anyone actually say anything about it..... when a baby dies, how do you dispose of it? Bury it? Trash it? Compost it? Same question with a doe that isn’t used for breeding anymore. Do you eat it? Cull it? What do you do with it? Sorry newb here and have all the weird questions.

My father never let me touch the baby bunnies when I was growing up. He said if the momma smelled human on her babies, she'd eat them. And we did have lots of screaming and kicking and fighting at butcher time. It sounds like that is not true or maybe a wives tale???

Hi Sarah! This is a old video, I already watched and truly enjoyed the new series about raising meat rabbits. Binge watching it all as we want to start of with raising meat rabbits here in Germany. We are fearing the butchering part but we cannot stand how the industry fuctions. So there we are, trying to feed our 5 little ones. Lots of love and God bless you!

I am ssooo glad that I found your channel! I, my husband and mother have moved onto 6acs. of the Ozarks. We are 65, 75 and 83 yrs old respectively. We were sick of the rat race that is city/town living.

We are completely off grid, just got our solar system delivered, and are putting our water catchment system in today.

We are doing this on our Social Security and the little we made from the sale of our house.

We want laying chickens, a garden and one or two sources of animal protein. We are thinking of rotating turkeys and meat chickens, along with meat rabbits. We are also considering goats for milk and cheese.

Question, if you would be able to respond. Would the rabbits be a higher quality protein than the meat birds? Second question, how does one get over the "cute factor" in order to process the rabbits?

Again, thank you so much for your channel, Lord bless you.

When the doe jumps back into the nesting box it looks pretty brutal. She's pretty robust, and it doesn't appear she thinks about crushing them. But, they survive.
