ОтветитьFirst heard of this when I watched Band of Brothers. Helluva way to die indeed
ОтветитьEurope’s history for WW2 is truly over glorified while we should also remember the Asian war theater 4 years before WW2 started for Europe
ОтветитьMaximum Respect for those Nutters who deliberately jump out of aircraft into combat, with only a silk sheet to make Their landing relatively soft!

ОтветитьImagine singing songs like this before going to your plane with your best buddies. Still cheering with patriotism fighting for the red white and blue knowing chances are slim to none. What a hell of a millitary of great men my great father and grand fathers included. Cant ever thank you all enough. Semper phi brothers
Ответитьmy dad used to recite this when he got drunk he was 101 and carried that prick 82 and he signed up in in 62 ..thank you all
ОтветитьPlay this everytime I’m nervous about a PR in the gym. Shoutout to all our fallen brothers may they rest in peace 🫡
ОтветитьThere is nothing like sitting around a group of fellow paratroopers from all generations and singing this. To have been a young 82nd Airborne paratrooper and sing this with those who had jumped into combat in WWII was an amazing honor.

ОтветитьLets just take a moment to thank the airborn for this little gem
ОтветитьI had a great uncle who died in WW2, he was flying over Belgium when his plane was shot down. I don’t quite remember what position he had in the aircraft, but he tried to keep it flying after the pilot jumped off, but couldn’t keep it up. As it went down, he dove out a window and was caught on a wing and went down with the plane. I heard that he somehow survived the crash, but was crippled and later killed somehow. Just a story I’ve heard, and thought it might’ve been interesting to share.
ОтветитьI can imagine a stick of troopers singing this to keep thoer nerves while flying through the storms and flak over the skies of normandy.
It also reminds me of a moment from a book called 'the last navigator' by paul goodwin, his father Gordon was an Australian navigator on Lancaster bombers in the RAF and he and his crew would often banter with the women who packed their chutes, Gordon wrote they would often say, " if you ever have any trouble with them just bring them back"
For all Veterans or for anyone currently serving God bless you and thank you
ОтветитьMay god bless all of our soldiers and sailors. Honor and the upmost respect i give too the brave men that gave the ultimate sacrafice for our free country. God bless you all.
ОтветитьRip Vince "nuts" speranza
ОтветитьI remember singing this all the time in church before they changed the lyrics. Always a badass song and I don't think our current army sings this anymore.
