I Can't Believe Intel is Selling This. - Intel Arc A370M

Windows keeps trying to roll back my UHD630 driver to some ancient version with a memory leak that Intel fixed long ago, every couple of months I'll notice insane RAM use in dwm.exe and sure enough it is because Windows Update decided to roll back the driver to the broken version. Can't stop it, tried everything.

i using a laptop with a370m right now
i dont do any gaming or editing i just bought this for the cpu it has 12500H for 600 dollars but
the whole windows rolling back the drivers is still a thing and messing up the whole experience even thought i dont use the gpu

Any updates on whether the bugs/issues are improved on the latest HP Spectre x360 models with 13th gen i7-1360P CPU and Arc A370M? Or still recommending to avoid?

I am wondering is it perform better now with the latest driver, it will be interesting to have a comparison review after 1 year of this product

Only issue with this, is the bugs and inconsistencies. On paper, the specs make it like a GTX1650 mobile, not close to an RTX3050 mobile at all.
Because the A370M doesn’t boost that high, compared to the 2048 cores the base 3050M has, even at its maximum 75 watt mode with its 1600Mhz on all those cuda cores. This is clearly a more low end entry level low cost chip that didn’t due well due to bugs, and being an actually first gen dedicated GPU.

Did that got better now 10 months later?

But have u tried the i7 12700h version? Many says its much better than the i7 1260p one

I have ARC A370M in my new LEVONO and it does get stuck when open folders with photos and videos and with some apps too. That laptop is new from the box. Very disappointing.

Sad cause the hp envy I've been seeing in box stores for around $800 is really sleek. Nice track pad and keyboard, wish it was more powerful. Need more thin laptops without sacrificing power.

I just bought a Zenbook Pro with this A370M in it and an Intel i712700H, and honestly I'm very pleased with it. I actually have a Lenovo Legion as my main gaming rig, but this is my work machine and I can play most current games on at least mid settings. I don't experience any of these issues or glitches that are described in this video.

Is it possible more recent drivers have turned things around? Because honestly, I'm actually kind of liking this graphics chip.

Intel Arc will be fantastic for media servers.

Im glat that their making High end IGPU's much powerfull than Their own Iris xe/UHD/HD graphics but Im unimpressed on how expensive they are... Im gonna be pleased if they ever Released an ultrabook half the price than this $2k dollar Arc gpu laptop and fixed their GPU driver and bugs issues.

They should do a review on this again, with new drivers that have come out with the A770

Doing a little of a lot and a lot of some on my computers, I'm wanting my CPU & GPU to have a good balance of capabilities, so yeah Intel will stay well out of my radar for the foreseeable future.

also linus. you are testing on hp laptops. i dont hp as far as i could throw their buildings. aka -0. ever since the original ceo of hp stepped down hp has been in the shitter for EVERYTHING they have made. and they will not and never will recover. i would rather trust dell.

I just brought the HP spectre 16" but has the arc 370m in it. Should I return it before I open the box?? Is it not worth the risk? After this video it Definitely doesn't seem like keeping it. I'm using it for loading and downloading and light gaming and movies and stuff

Hi! Any comments on how is Spectre x360 with Intel Arc performing now, ~4 months later? Have the new drivers and updates from last weeks/months improved anything?

At the end of the day will Intel put out updates that will fix the Arc A370M? To put it in another way, is me Asus Zenbook Flip Arc A370 2 in 1 a brick or will updates help it in the future? Should I just return the damn thing?

when you mentioned the RTX launch what I was thinking is short supply, miners buying them all, scalpers hoarding them and inexcusably high prices.

In all fairness they are still new. It is only now I might have a chance to get one. I would say for now just keep an eye on them and see how good (or bad) they become.

Has this been fixed, the biggest question for the Asus zenbook flip 15 UP6502ZD and the spectre, because I want to purchase the flip desperately because maybe a driver update helped?

I'm not trying to game, I just want a two in one laptop/tablet thingy that's powerful enough to handle my creative needs (3D and whatnot). And the ones that initially caught my eye have this piece of garbage in it.

Tragic that HP rendered this refresh of the Spectre x360 unreliable. I was keeping an eye on this line/model for an everything machine with drawing capabilities. I'll keep hope that HP doesn't curse their Envy line with the same intel GPU's.

Really disappointing...
I'm looking at which Yoga 7i setup to buy, for audio and video editing rather than for games. There's a 14" or 16" 1260p with integrated graphics and a 16" 12500H with an A370m, all for the same price.
I thought the latter was the perfect combination, on paper the 12500H should perform better with it's higher power consumption, and while I don't expect a lot of GPU boost, the additional 4GB VRAM should help. Then again, the H probably runs too hot in a 2-in-1 and if it's throttled by thermals and GPU driver problems, I might as well stick with the more efficient package. 🤔

i`m searching for a new laptop at the moment. I need it to be power efficient because i`l run it on solar power in my camper van.
I wanna edit videos on it and maybe play a game every once in a while.
So that could maybe be the asolute perfect thing for me, right?

I remember buying an intel GPU (well, a vga with graphics accelerator) before. It was the Intel i740. Installing the driver and directx on Windows 95 and making it work with the AMD K6-2 CPU was a frigging nightmare! I have spent weeks trying to make it work, and when it finely did, the performance was meh at best. It looks like the history is repeating itself.

I have an AMD slim laptop and Microsoft keeps replacing the driver with the "certified" crap that breaks 3D rendering. MS should stop breaking drivers

I tried the Asus Zenbook Oled with a 12700H and A370M. Terrible...I tested several games on 720p~1080p with medium to low settings, the experience is often much worse than a bootcamp windows on a 2019 macbook pro with vega20. The GPU could cause some weird crashing on Windows11. When I put the laptop into sleep while the A370M is about to finish running, it crashes almost everytime. And I then have to find and manually input the bitlocker code to boot up again thanks to the TPM of windows 11.

Anyone able to get handbrake working? The presets doesn't even show AV1.
