Why don't you recommend Half-Orc?
It seem slike the best race for any melee Ranger (especially if you go with STR).
What am I missing?
Very helpful for my lolth-sworn drow ranger and his two spider friends
ОтветитьDrizzt has a couple levels in Monk now in FR, on top of Fighter/Ranger
Ответитьin my opinion beastmaster needs full commitment to be a good class. beasts get extra attack, more HP, and more abilities at level 11. Raven and bear can summon additional units for you at this point and both, and can easily debuff or deal substantial damage.
ОтветитьOne thing id like to see in your future builds is a quick run down on a rough party comp to accompany your builds. Cheers for the videos
ОтветитьMy favorite beastmaster Ranger Build is to dip in bard, so i can sing and call my forest's friends like a Disney princess.
ОтветитьIs there a way to rename your pet companion?
ОтветитьFor shadowheart did you say life or light cleric?
ОтветитьI made a similar build focusing on utility.

ОтветитьI started a play through and wanted to try beast master just couldn’t figure how to build it thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us
ОтветитьGreat vid, totally agree with your build style.
Building a character you came up with is always better. Using the meta build is boring. It’s a disservice to a game that has so many build options when people only use the same 3 or 4 builds.
Let’s face it, a couple people came up with the meta builds, then others just copied them, while pretending like they know the game so well and it was their idea.
I could never play beastmaster until they fix the pathfinding for the animals
ОтветитьI really want this game, it’s a shame I can’t afford it
Ответить"It's the ranger!"-random uruk
ОтветитьReally stretching for that 10 minute mark. lol I appreciate the long in depth videos.
ОтветитьWell DnD is all about maximize how many actions you can take in one turn.
ОтветитьHey, I watch and enjoy all of your videos! But I have a random question. You're bros with Indypride, right? He hasn't put up anything in a while... is he alright? Hiatus?
ОтветитьThe first time I played D&D table top my class ranger / beastmaster,
Valkyria. My animal companion was a wolf, Fenrir.
I was allowed to play as a dryad who was bound to the world spirit three.
But but but he's not a beast master ranger.. he's a fighter ranger subclass with maybe 1 or 2 lvls of barbarian... But canonically he wouldn't be a beast master he's more fitting as a gloom stalker
Ответитьif it hasn't been said already, the hunting shortbow(and gandrel's bow) are great in act 1 honour mode against the spider queen as it's a monstrosity enemy so you'll gain advantage making the fight much easier
Ответитьplease make a bard build and i love your videos and they have helped me so much with the game
Ответитьlargely irrelevant to this, but one of the multiclasses ive been dabbling with, is 4 levels in ranger, with the hunter sub class(for the colussus slayer perk/etc) and then 8 levels in fighter of battle master(champion could also work(esp if u go with a half orc) but anyroad, thanks for coming to my ted talk and dont forget to tip your waitress and etc
Ответить"new breath of air" lol Think you got muddled up between "a breath of fresh air" and "a new lease of life".
ОтветитьStellar video again, nice work Sparty!
ОтветитьIm new to bg3 and changed from druid to ranger. No regrets. This video is incredibly helpful
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention that all the animal companion's pathfinding is totally bugged, making them sincerely unplayable except for the raven.
ОтветитьI wonder why fighter and not rogue? Pets close to the target make you attack a sneak attack…. Isn’t that better than the fighter?
ОтветитьNice build... and I go the 1 shot one kill dual Crossbow Colossus Slayer. No pets. Just a Gnome with a gun. :P (Not really a gun but I imagine them as having guns)
ОтветитьThe Zariel Tielfing smites really are a bummer, taking an entire turn and concentration.
ОтветитьI wanna build a beast master with some Wizard
ОтветитьLove the Drizzt inspired build. Loved that forgotten realms series when I was a teen too
I’ve done 4 playthrough all as drow because of him haha I’m doing my last one as a teifling just to experience the other side.
Thank you for emphasizing enjoyment over min maxing
ОтветитьForest Gnome. Auto talk to animals and great saving throws. It is my go to race for most of my chzracters
ОтветитьJust a small correction about the Battle Master Manoever Precision Attack: You describe it as the game adding the number of superiority dice you have left to use to your next attack roll, but that's not right. It actually rolls one of your superiority dice and adds the number you get to your attack role; this is even better :)
ОтветитьNote to self. Disarm mirrored self.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial mate, would be really nice to get equipment breakdowns for each act in order maybe? That way when I am in act 1 say, I can go to the act 1 section of the vid and follow along? Great video overall though well done 😊
ОтветитьI think it's worth getting fighter 2 earlier for action surge in many cases. Ofc it depends on how you play and how often you SR. But I'm playing basically this build but with the first 2 levels of fighter after level 6 (then back to ranger) and I didn't miss the help or HP buffs because you can get around that with good tactics.
ОтветитьThanks for the video
ОтветитьDoes anybody else feel bad about sending your animal companions out, only for them to take hits and die?
I started a beastmaster ranger because I really like the concept. I ended up quitting the character, because a lot of his investment was in his companions. I became reluctant to actually use them in combat, because I didn't want my animals to get hurt. Thereby negating the reason to play a beastmaster.
I get it -- it's just a video game, the animals aren't real, and all that. But why do I play video games if I can't immerse myself into it? I care about my humanoid companions, I also care about animal companions.
I'm probably an oddball. 🙂 Just wanting to see if anyone else thinks about this sort of thing.
The spider is just straight up busted if you are devious. Breaks the game.
ОтветитьKnight is awesome. Gives heavy armor prof. Maybe you don't want to wear a plate armor, but some heavy boots or helms .
Never take wasteland poison it is useless (druid ,kept in camp which doesn't join the party in adventure, can buff you with protection from poison). Fire is better than cold.
Always pick at level 1 hunters mark and long strider. You can almost infinite amounts of hunters marks , but limited amounts of the other non ritual spells.
That wolf's septic bite giving disadvantage on Constitution saving throws is huge against spell users concentration checks!
ОтветитьRangers Rule. That is all.
ОтветитьThis video heavily influenced me to go Ranger.
ОтветитьI really like to take both the Raven familiar and the Raven companion.
1. All 3 characters start sneaking
2. Familiar Raven opens on nearest enemy with blind then retreats
3. Companion Raven opens on 2nd enemy then positions in melee range of ranged character
4. Clean up
Could you make a build for the tankiest build possible (of any class/race)?
Ответитьi've been using a less offensive version of this class, a 11 beastmaster 1 war cleric with band of mystic scoundrel and helmet of arcane acuity.
The goal is to open with multi target arrows and keep arcane acuity high, and drop 95% command: halt or grovel every turn while your crow spreads darkness for the squishy monk and the warlock to go ham on. Love this class, so flexible
Thanks for this! It's cool to see, as I am new to the game and Beastmaster is also what I started with on my first playthrough. I went Drow Half-Elf with mine, and rarely do any melee attacks. My whole vision of this archetype is to have my pet tanking in melee while I shoot arrows from the back. I don't believe that I plan on sub-classing. Having a good time with it. Interesting comment about the Hunter's Bow as I undervalued it since I already have Hunter's Mark and good ways to get Advantage. I've been using the long bow that adds electric damage instead, though I'm not sure if wearing more charge items is worth it.
