Dororo (the anime adaption) actually has a similar story and premise to this Japanese Folklore (IDK if it was the same characters or if they were called something completely different) but on a positive note it ended on a happy ending

I am the only one who hates the this type of monster? The type I’m referring to is the type that will shapeshifte into a human, and use that to persuade and later trick it’s prey and they kill or eat. Like damn, I already know to be careful and somewhat mistrusting of other humans as unfortunately not all people are good, but this make it even worse as I know I’m slightly paranoid when I met someone or hear someone asking or even crying for help, like that could and is mostly likey someone who needs help, and to top it all off, the form these creatures often take are good looking girls. While these for the most part don’t affect me, it still does sometimes.

Love how in this one Matt is a completely normal dude, but Red and Blue end up as fey creatures in the Extra Mythology one bc their colorings are a mix between their full color and line-art versions

To Red and Blue, and the other crew members who work on this channel:
I've really enjoyed alot of the videos you guys have posted, especially the myths and the Journey to the West series. I've learned alot about other countries, their history, and especially their many stories. Classics Summarized is particularly one of my favorite spin-offs to watch/listen to since I don't have the original books. Though I couldn't help but notice that there's only one video of my native country, the Philippines. The Mt. Mayon myth video was quite entertaining even though I've already read the original story before. Yet I would I really love to see a few more videos of stories from my home country, and ho boy. I have a lot you guys could cover, but I'll tell you the ones that can be very helpful for high school students. I will be warning you now however: there are English translations, but whatever language always covers more than a hundred pages.

The first one you could try is the 1890's classic, Noli me Tangere by Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. I don't exactly have a way to describe the entire basic premise, but it feels worthy enough to be on your channel as a Classics Summarized. The same can go for its sequel El Filibusterismo, which puts quite the spin on a major character from the previous book. I won't say who as to avoid spoilers, but I think you guys will really enjoy these books.

I doubt you'll ever see this comment though, but I would love it if you guys tried talking about these books. If you ever decide to do so, I'll be waiting, and so will be everyone else. Hope y'all are taking good care of yourselves and we'll see you next time. Okay bye~

I love how the tengu lord tells him "there are less emotionally taxing ways to die." Is that part of the story? Because I can see a character in a Japanese folktale giving strangely sensible advice like that. Anything to persuade someone else not to harm themselves or the community.

fun fact that rock split in two
and if you do the calculation the time it takes to walk from japan to England 16 hours a day was the same amount of time between the rock breaking and the queen's death. now I'm not saying a kitsune killed the queen but still it's an interesting cross over in time.

Imagine taking what is poorly summed up as a spider succubus and writing a story where the unsuspecting victim said "Okay but she was cute tho". Only a hundred or so years ago and saying something like that to anyone outside of Asia would get you sent to the Christ box and shouted at to repent

I mean, considering how spider mating works, I’m guessing the hidden ending of this tale is death by snu snu... our boy really, really didn’t understand what getting eaten out entailed in the mind of a spider lady.
