Dotto…you are wrongo when calculating the rooftop area-unless your roof is completely flat! Did you forget your grade 5 pythagoras theorem? Yah like like roof area maybe almost double depending on various pitches of your rood. Oh well, you canot be right all the time….lol..but good vid regardless

How do you make google maps correct the time zone boundaries? In Nebraska, Mountain and Central Time zone border is along the eastern border of Cherry County...This is incorrect....the time zone boundary should actually be West of Croookston, Nebraka on google maps..

When Google maps first came out a member of a group presented a session on how to use it. As a joke he put in his home location and driving directions to London, UK and it showed the route to a Nova Scotia and then it said leave auto and swim across the Atlantic. I just tried that, but it no longer does that.

I have a mac and when I right click to use Measurements that box with the Measure distance option doesnt come up... I cant seem to find that anywhere.... how do you measure distance or square feet with a mac? thank you

Question. Since Google bought Waze a couple of years ago, my perception is that the maps data is shared between the apps. However, it seems like it is only through the Waze map editor can I make corrections. Why would I need to make a correction, you ask? For example, I had a friend complain that no one seems to know how to deliver to her house. I open up the Waze map editor, and sure enough, her street was still marked private from when the homes were being constructed. I know that Waze will not navigate to a private street. Neither will Google maps. I changed it to public (I had permission to do so since I drive the area and I am considered due to rank to be Waze "royalty"), and once the new maps were pushed out, her navigation issue was solved. So, my question is, does Google maps have a map editor, or do we need to continue to use the Waze map editor?

Nice video. I discovered a limitation of Google maps last week while in Venice, Italy. I had previously downloaded the maps, but I found myself having to take a water taxi in the dark to a hotel that a cruise company had booked for me. I wanted to view on Google maps where I was and how long the water taxi ride would be, but Google maps is not set up for water taxi as a mode of transport. It was telling me it would take over a day to get there because it thought I would need to take the ferry the next day. Lol.

I've never been one to use Google Maps or Google Calendar, but now I've seen your video, I'm using both with enthusiasm. Thank you.

Can Google maps tell you your current elevation? Looking at one screen you showed it looks as if it has that capability and yet I was unable to find out how to go about doing that.

Is there a way to tell Google Maps to show street names instead of road numbers? Particularly when on foot, I don't want to know that it's the A501, I want to know that it's St John's Road

Here's a feature in Google Maps I keep forgetting howto do: when I plan a travel, I save a map of the place with the locations Iwant to visit, and change the icons: Red circle for hotel, blue star for museums etc.
Problem is that every time I go on a trip I forget how to change those icons from the standard red pin. Can you help?

Maybe it works better in America with the simple grid system for the road layout. In England Google maps is unreliable and often leads you wrong when you use it for driving.

Have you figured out how to update the Street View / 360 images google automatically displays for Maps listings via Business Profile accounts? We recently updates an office address after relocating, but the the Maps listing still has the old street view and now obvious way to edit it or prompt and update on their end. there is a report flag, but that seems to be very indirect.

They hardly update their street views so it sucks

Hi, do you know anyway to turn up the black to see the small roads better, I can hardly see any roads until I zoom right in.

The roof measurements need to incorporate the slope of the roof for a more precise number.

There's pitch to the roof which is not accounted for in the flat (2d) measurement.

i have a problem trying to use sam flow on phone to mirror google maps to sam a8 tablet , so when driving i can use tablet map instead of phone ,just says no shared content, any ideas??

Thanks Steve, Love your calm presentation Style. One of the things I love, just requires you to subscribe to Google Maps, and give it permission to know the location of your mobile. For that, it then sends you a very extensive monthly report, telling you where you traveld, how you traveled. Even some neat pics someone else took, which sometimes makes me want to go back and have another look. Now one problem, Ive subscribed, all I want to be able to do is tell others HOW.. but blow me down, I can't remember and searches haven't revealed how.. best one was here in You Tube....subscribe to google maps which got your presentation.
