I feel like it'd be cool if they made an update with two new scenarios. One, you cure the planet and leave with the sunbeam, and two you escape before the sunbeam arrives.

Yeah, they really should have taken into account the idea that some people would speed run though the game or not get the Sunbeam transmissions until much later in the game.

How did you launch without the gun disabled?

How did you pull this off? You can only leave when the QEP is disabled but when the QEP is disabled the sunbeam never arrives due to an asteroid field. For the sunbeam to get shot the QEP would have to be active but it cannot be active because then you could not escape

I like that you can see how they never made the Sunbeam a proper model, as it remains the same size. It was never even in space, it's just a tiny model that moves with the player.
