There's a funny thing about the balloons that thefifthmatt mentioned to me, they're actually an object but the easiest way for the game to reward you an item for breaking them is to have an NPC die that drops the item, so there's an invisible NPC whose only purpose is to die when the balloon is popped.

Ranni is the same as an enemy named balloon doll? Like a blow up doll? Are you telling me ranni is basically a realdoll?

The design of the wings on the little guys reminds me of the wing/arms of the iron golems in Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky. They’ve got similar little spikes on them in between the different sections.

When I thought about what all those arms and hands could accomplish, I popped a ring on that doll like I was talkin 50s slang!

The puppet body was created by Seluvis. Ever thought it was weird Ranni has him as her third guy, even though she clearly doesn't like him? We know he created the puppets, as Pidia's job was to maintain them for him. The puppets are clearly there to protect Caria Manor. It would stand to reason then that Ranni commissioned him to make such a vessel based off his designs.

But one thing tho, Ranni doesn't seem to have fines over the 4 arms, she always moves them in pairs, as if she only moves 2 and the 2 below just follows.

tbh I think the mentor thing is supposed to refer to the differences Ranni's model has to the other marionettes, blue skin, the hair etc. I think generally her body is a modified version of the marionettes, and not necessarily saying the mentor also had 4 arms. Though the marionettes themselves may well be based on the Revenants etc.

clears throat actually, bats and birds basically do just use their hands to fly, especially with bats it is noticeable as it is their finger bones that keep the wings in shape, so I don't think the name "wingdoll" is wrong in any way 😅 the arms are just more visible

I theorized that Ranni's mentor was Renna because we find the original Snow Witch outfit in Renna's Rise. Do we have any info about her that could help with this?
