parallel (clip) distortion is another approach - in rock it's not uncommon to stack multiple basses on a summing track and applying various types of distortions to individual tracks to fill out the frequency spectrum

bruh how u using kontakt for bass whilst using stereo for bass distortion lol. you're not even laying bass and using samples which is lower quality.

This is great but I can't figure out why adding bass like this causes so much crackling. Anyone have an Idea? Some stock instruments that aren't even bassy cause crackling as well. I've tried changing buffer size. Made sure it wasn't my audio interface or headphones. Problem is happening in logic and I have no idea how to fix it.
