ОтветитьBeing present can get rid of anxiety imo which resides in the future. However the judging part is something I can't really get around. It reminds me of having a childs mentality. Sometimes we need to judge something as "bad" because it will protect us from danger. An example is walking alone in the dark. This is where I need to refer to the "past" than being "present". The present will tell me that it's just darkness without any association. The past teaches me that I need to get to safety and the figure coming at me is could be harmful so of course I'm going to judge this fear and label it bad. Anyone care to clarify? I know in the book he mentions this but I can't remember what he says in response to this, the mentality that we are like animals when we detach from this "higher order thinking".

ОтветитьHow am i supposed to have a secure future if i don't deliberately plan it? This philosophy seems like it doesn't consider the realities of responsibility and future security. I understand the part of not listening to the thoughts but i found that at some point these type of let go your whole ego doesn't work for most of us unless you want to be a monk, or am i missing something?

ОтветитьThere's a good way to stop thinking for a moment - try to anticipate your next thought and see what happens. It's a trick of course, can't be sustained, but it's interesting.

ОтветитьI never was able to watch the thoughts from outside. Whenever I try to do that the thoughts are gone. There is either thoughts or me watching blankness. whenver a thought arises I get attracted by it ad lose the awareness.

ОтветитьMan is a "social" whip, many have to pretend to be social. Later, you can see that the stress caused by others sticks to that person (growth hormone drops quickly, the skin deteriorates, etc.) The best medicine is to be alone.
