Baldur's Gate 3 - Let's Play Part 9: Mountain Pass (Unexpected Guest)

Please remember that 99.9% of humans that play a crpg, on their first full run will make mistakes / forget about new features etc. It is part of the experience. If you think you are above that you are wrong. Takes me a little to get into the habit of using extra attack for example. Feel free to comment on mistakes made, but no need to be an ass about it. Also note that I am already 17 episodes into this! So feedback is appreciated, but these are already mostly recorded. LOVING the new content.

you should use that mask to turn into the races you talk to. might help with your amazing dice rolling ability. hehe.

This is the perfect companion playthrough because you are absolutely insane and every choice you make is completely different to mine.

So cool how the play through are different. The Kobolds I encountered first and you had them last. Also I think you might have blew them up. But I had like 3 kobold inside the alcohol barrels. 😅 was pretty funny.

Did you realise, only the glowing corpses are able to be talked to, so you don't waste your spell. Can you use some form of spell that charms the eagles, or calms emotions?

I can't afford an Xbox S or any PC capable of running BG3, thank you for letting me experience the game viscerally. I can't wait to play this when the time is right!

Was I the only one that thought, "Don't forget to re-equip the gloves on Karlach."?

Great playthrough, my go to for BG3 content. Im only just getting to experience this on PS5 myself so watching as I progress so as im not spoiled.

P.S trusting Volo was a great decision although every fiber of me was saying not to. I had to take the plunge and see what would actually happen.

My game REALLY wants me and Gale to be a thing, possibly due to early launch bugs. It's not just him coming onto me, my character says things like "first in my heart" about him even though I'm romancing shadow and have never expressed any interest in Gale, even turning down his magic lesson the second he offered.

So when Elminster showed up I was like "wow, you hear that Gale? Guess you've got your work cut out for you!" "Uhh I haven't even said yes yet" "You got it Elminster, I'll see to it that he explodes"

I went to the underdark first to gain exp, then I'm going to double back and do the mountain pass before going to moonrise towers

As someone who has read FR since he was a boy, and that was many years ago indeed lol, I’m loving this play through. Especially Elminster! The novels are awesome. The one thing I’m saddened by is he doesn’t have his magic pipe. Probably because it’s 2023, but that pipe is amazing and worth a king’s ransom in a gameplay setting lol

I wonder what episode you figure out sacred flame and toll the dead are RANGED cantrips for shadow heart?

Really wish he had’ve done the Spike Growth during that first encounter, it would’ve been something new that he could’ve dropped after getting all of the baddies in a bottle neck, plus Hunter’s Mark has been failing like 70% of the time😒

Great Series. Held up on Episode 10 as I am trying to work through the story slightly ahead of where your episodes are. So that I don't see too many spoilers, but the urge to watch more is high. Great work my friend. Haters gonna hate. Keep doing what you are great at which is producing excellent content.

Okay, I haven't met Elminster in my game, as I went straight for the monestary / didn't really travel with Gale much, but he is all of a sudden my favorite character xD

Love the fact Elminster is in the game he is such a Forgotten Realms legend😊

Loving the content man! You definitely know your stuff, I've missed about 80% of the stuff you didn't so be so hard on yourself for any mistakes/ mess-ups. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the ranger playthrough and excited to see what class you make next.

It still isn't clear to me what Gale did that was so terrible from Mystra's perspective. It sounded like he was trying to do a good thing but ended up falling into a trap. Why would she just abandon him for that?

Guardian of faith. I never use it on my life cleric as it only deals so much damage and spell ends.

I lockpicked the enchanted door and took out the Guardian of faith with ranged attacks through the doorway (If you don't move into it's area it doesn't attack).😉
Edit: You can probably shoot through the broken window too with the same result.

this new content area was so interesting and I felt it was sparse at first but realize there was a lot going on. hopefully you end up finding the merchant earlier on. I was going to run with the new wild barbarian and switch between gale and wyll, but lazel and gale's stories really hooked me in wanting to play them out. the next part was so intense for lazel.

I took so much time running through the monastery the first time. If you take the time to read all the books/journals you find then you get a really nice picture of what happened to the place and why the githyanki are there. Awesome first new area to explore after early access.

Imagine they made a VR version of this and the there's a suit that goes with it and apon making your character, you have to do a series of "tests" that'll ultimately give you your starting stats

New challenge: get one of those 12" tall Home Depot Halloween skeletons and dress it up as a Death Shepherd
