GAME CHANGER: The "Utility" Template for Ableton Live

Curious why you don't use Groups and then use the group for the bus. It sounds like you both came from different DAWs. Is that the reason? Pre-master, I get. I am on the fence on that curve. It depends on what you are doing and what you are playing.

How can I use this with ableton live standard? Bought it, saved it, but AL tells me it can not be opened with standard.

Just a suggestion: Not that I'm very bright but I'm a very lucky researcher and eventually found this vid after hunting all over the internet to find the utilities you always have loaded on your tutorials. (Don't ask me why I didn't look on your channel first... I guess doing everything backwards is what gives me the tenacity to keep trying?) how to use the utility fx group?

I bought this but I'm not able to use it with Ableton Standard 11 since the Echo effect is only in the Suite version. Is it possible to get a version of the template that doesn't use Echo?

this adds too many potential failure points for me to use this method. i can keep much better track of my gain staging with just a fader lol

Hey, this might be a an odd question. Do you still touch the volume faders or just keep them at -12 and use Utility to adjust volumes?

Hi, thank you for the template and the guide, it helped me a lot.
But one question about adding FX, is it better to add them before or after the utility?

IS there a reason to use busses rather than folders (which act as busses) ? Also, why are the FX sends NOT going to the pre-master fader ? Maybe I don't really understand how you are using the pre-master fader.

Thanks for this hint and Your tutorial. I got the idea, bought this template today, and started to build up my first track based on this template. I like how the gain staging works and the whole workflow. It is a great starting point for my future tracks. I will enhance this template as well, so it fits my needs.

Quick question about the compression re gain staging. Is the compressor there just to highlight GR when the signal goes above -18dbfs so that it becomes easier for us to see where we need to tame the signal? If the signal tickles the compressor with a few db of gain reduction, I take it this would be acceptable? Bearing in mind not everything is going to be played at the same level, so if those instruments with spikey transients ie drums hit say -15dbfs, I guess pads etc are levelled around these or am I missing something?

I bought it time ago but I never gave it a chance, don't ask why... But after this video I decided to take a closer look and, really, it gives me a different perspective when it comes to organize workflow and avoid muddiness, especially with ambient and electronic music, where synthesizers tend to invade the whole acoustic spectrum. And the FX presets are really great and useful. It gives me also a different approach with Ableton. I never gave too much attention to internal FX in any DAW but I have to admit Ableton suite of fx is really effective and good quality and it doesn't make you regret third party products. thx for this tutorial.

I just bought this "game changer" Utility on Bandcamp. I opened the project in my Live 11 std which says to me : your computer is not authorized, buy a license ! I authorized my Live Std four (4) times and each time I open this Remote Vision - Utility Template, I can't use it despite the fact I bought it : I can't save anything because Live become unauthorized… :((

I wonder about the pre-master fader. Never heard of it before. Why a pre-master fader ? If someone could enlight me about it if you please.

With the gain staging and the limiter on the master what's the ideal peak to be hitting on the master?

Sometimes I don't know if I understand something about production or not. Do you always use the same EQ curve on all instruments and samples? Do you use in percussion?😵😵😵

Been using this template on AL Standard for a few months and I love not having to think about organizing anymore. The send channels had Suite effects on them but after replacing these with my preferred effects and some minor tweaking I saved my own default template based on it.

How to record a Synth? from Synth or Synth bus ? or pre master or ? Synth bus to new audio channel ?
