I need urgent help, i have similar issue for drive cannot mount on mac, and probably because i use the hard drive as time machine backup, when i plug in windows machine, it doesn't pop up for fix the drive. I went to manage section on windows, i can see the drive, but also cannot be read or mount. What can i do?

My external hard drive keeps freezing on my Mac while transferring files. It usually starts out smooth, and then 30 seconds to 1 minute in, it starts freezing or responding extremely slowly. What might be causing this and how do I fix it? Thanks

My drive was readable but didn't show how much was unused. I ran First Aid on Disk Utiliity, it failed and now the disk is unreadable. So First Aid made things worse....now I tried Disk Drill and ran First Aid again but the drive is still unreadable even though there's no hardware failure :(

will not work if formatted using apfs, windows will not recognize it. You should have precise that it will only work for extfat

hi there, what would be the next step if the windows scan and repair doesn't work? I have a 2 TB hard drive and 1 TB is used, so it probably has tons of issues compared to the drive that has only few items. I would appreciate your advice 🙏

Wow just so happened all those commenters just happen to have a windows machine, lucky them.

why is this happening in macs? Actually it happens VERY OFTEN to not show the disk in my air m1 mac, until i wait for at least 20 mins (for a 4tb disk). Does this has to do maybe with MBR or Guid?

i don't have any windows devices with me tho :(

I noticed that the drive you used was formatted in exFat. What if the drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)? will the PC still fix it?
