i have a hp notebook - 15-ba009dx ... can i hook a eGPU Dock and graphics card on that ?

Normal egpu setup that has its own hdmi port still could produce acceptable FPS.

I did try P104 and P106 (mining GTX 1070 & 1060) that should use motherboard's hdmi port with the help of Intel HD as display output bridge, the result was terrible and traumatic. LOL.

I tested P106-100 in Snowrunner as test game with x16 pcie usually capped at 60fps med-high setting.
And then switched to minipcie x1, fps was limited only at 15-20 in any settings ! Low - med - high still produced similar number, weird.
So, i highly recommend not to utilize minipcie for this kind of setup. Terrible.

Nvme with x2 or x4 pcie 3.0 would be much better for sure, if possible.

for my personal experience with a egpu i say it isn't worth it the performance is horrible due to the limitations of the egpu dock and laptop just buy a optiplex put a gpu and psu in it and call it a day

Would it be possible to use this same set up but instead of having to take out the WiFi card. Can I instead use thunderbolt if my laptop has it? Or if it doesn't can I use some sort of adapter? Because it would be a hassle having to always plug in and out the WiFi card on my everyday laptop as I take it everywhere.
