Im only 16, but i played Undertale as soon as it came out at a VERY young age. I knew how special of a game it was, but replaying the game recently sent me down a spiral of learning instruments, drawing, and nostalgia hitting me HARD. Im not soft! But i always get emotional with every part of Undertale and Deltarune that Toby Fox (Being himself) put in there to pluck your heartstrings. The ending of Undertale in the New Home is the worst one for me. The song Undertale… It punches a hole in my chest every time i hear it and i can’t do anything about it. Seeing this video actually helped and inspired me a lot, Getting deeply into music because of because that annoying dog, this will always be one of my favorite videos of all time for explaining how his dog brain made such a masterpiece musically. That being said, You’re an awesome person. Thank you for being you, I really really mean it.❤️

Hi :D I wonder if this will find anyone, I have a question as someone who's trying to learn music. I feel like in stuck being a beginner, I can follow tabs but that's about it, I don't know how to do things outside of the book, I can't play by ear (yet, still trying) and I want to progress so that I'll be able to have more freedom in what I want to play. Any advice on a course of action I should take? Or just anything it's much appreciated :D

I was about to add a music similar to Undertale's main menu for my own one in my game, but couldn't find anything minimalistic. So I decided to make my own track. But then I couldn't suitable instrument, so I searched how to make 8 bit music and ended up here. Then I understood that I also have to know something about music creation and I don't have enough time to learn that. So now I'm kinda stuck...(

What version of fl studio is this (like price plans)

To do all this by ear inspires me to get to that same level of making masterpieces with no effort at all.

Pizza tower took a similar approach. Heck, it even has its own sheet that looks almost identical to the undertale one.

I think for shop the square lead needs a bit longer attack or toby might even have taken out some of the "sharper" harmonics. a bit less pan on the piano, the glockenspiel shouldn't be panned on top of it. bring the piano inwards a little bit and give it the space it needs. the left string section needs to be more noticeably pizzicato, and over all the original has a more "surround" feel to the background strings and the piano feels more present (probably has something to do with panning and eq)

Other than that, you've done an incredible job and have made me excited to try out the tools for myself. I am fascinated by tobys compositions

does anyone know how the sliding effect was achieved in “fallen down”? I’m pretty sure he used the onnett bass sound font, but I don’t think you can change do sliding effects on sound fonts, do I need a plug-in to t something?

Thank you so much for this video! I've been wanting to start learning how to create music for my own games in a DAW for so long and I had no idea where to start. I was able to follow along with the steps you took to recreate Shop and then used what I learned to recreate all of Hotel including the second part by ear that you didn't show in the video. So thanks for the inspiration you have given me to start learning more about music production!
