blind taste it vs a good 200$ and you might pick the 200$ amazing product but never worth that much
ОтветитьI've come to terms with knowing that I'll probably never try a pappy
ОтветитьI once had a bottle of the PVW 15yo, and quite enjoyed it, but have to note that this was before it all exploded. As it became harder to find and more of a collector bourbon, the cost began to outweigh the actual taste, notably for the 20yo. I cannot under any circumstances justify paying 2 grand for a bottle of bourbon when so much great bourbon is out there at reasoned and reasonable cost. BTW, I am truly impressed you could tell it was a Weller from the get-go!
ОтветитьI've heard Weller special reserve is the same mash bill at a smidgen over 20 bucks. Any truth to this, and if so, is Welller something like Pappy's. Just a little of what it might be?😮
ОтветитьThe msrp is probably 200.00 lol
Ответитьthere's definitely an okie involved, not sure it's the whiskey...
Ответитьany relation to Vanilla Ice?
ОтветитьI have to block this channel. Kinda entertaining but cant stand the movie clips he gets put in to be extra.
ОтветитьSo I’m going to just point this out. You were guessing the age of this whiskey and you already read the bottle out loud stating it’s a 15 year off the bottle. Why did you guess the age of it lower then the fact you stated out loud off the bottle?? Hopefully you see my point. I don’t believe I need to label you with a word that describes how un-intelligent that review was.
ОтветитьI'm old enough to have had the pleasure of drinking 3 different bottles of Pappy 15 back when they were $65-$75 a bottle. Although Buffalo Trace is making an excellent version of Pappy, the bottle I had that was 100% Stitzel-Weller juice was absolutely the best. The same goes for Old Weller 107. Around 1978 it was $19/bottle and better than any bourbon I had ever tasted back then and right up there with the Pappy 15 I bought in '97.
ОтветитьYou wouldn't bitch that much about the oak and rate it that high. Value is a 1 out of 100 if weller107 is as goof at $100 a bottle lol
Ответитьeasy answer no
ОтветитьSystem seems to be working. You shouldn't let the hype of the product affect you trust in the system. The system is allowing you to fairly judge a bottle and I think the value portion is quite fair.
Ответить🤯
ОтветитьDo it with style
ОтветитьI’m sure it’s good, but is it better than a $100 or cheaper bourbon. 🥃 or is it just the hype. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve had some awful good tasting bourbon.
Ответить$2000? That’s sad. We just sold a 20 year for almost half that price. Crazy to me what store owners charge. What do I know? Lol
ОтветитьNo.
ОтветитьHell No!
ОтветитьNothing you piss or shit out is worth $2500
ОтветитьIf you have the disposable income and you want something specific, it's worth the money to you.
ОтветитьI tried it and it's really good. But $2,500 for a bottle is highway robbery unless you're a collector. So only seek them out if you see them as an investment.
ОтветитьI just watched a special episode of Moonshiners about Pappy Van Winkle and why it’s prices shot straight to the sky and it’s availability plummeted into the ground. In the late 2000’s and early 2010’s an employee of Buffalo Trace was involved in a black market crime ring of stealing Pappy Van Winkle barrels directly from the distillery. This came to a head in 2013 when Buffalo Trace started noticing that a large amount of Pappy product was missing and reported it to the police. It started a huge investigation and media feeding frenzy. After the Buffalo Trace employee and his accomplices were brought to justice and found guilty in 2018, some of the bourbon was recovered but it was destroyed by the distillery. Because they didn’t want to be held accountable for selling liquor that may have been tainted. It’s a shame because it’s several years of heritage gone to waste, and because it’s aged for 20+ years and that means it can’t be enjoyed by the public the way other premium bourbons are today. Because hardly anyone can acquire it, even if they can afford it.
ОтветитьYou know, that bottle is half empty already. Just sayin
ОтветитьI can give you a $200 bottle of Scotch Whisky with infinitely more character than this $2000 mouthwash. A complete and utter hype job
ОтветитьNo
ОтветитьNo alcohol is worth that price. It's just alcohol that gets hyped up.
ОтветитьRest In Peace To The Van Winkles 💔💔💔💔
Ответитьnothing is worth more than 500 bucks. There are plenty of amazing scotches available at this price. The fact that people pay such sums for bourbon is sad. I have some nice bottles, all of which I got for MSRP. Every purchase with the secondary market ensures that it exists for another day to come
ОтветитьI tried the Pappy 10 last week and it was AMAZING. How can one get it under $400? Just can't seem to find the way..
Ответитьwe get for 43.00 bucks where i work. secondary market price 3000.00.
ОтветитьNot only no, but he'll no.
ОтветитьBeginner : smells like gasoline
Advanced : do you have 47 minutes to hear what I think about this glorious aroma ??
Nothing you drink should cost 2000. Let's be honest. It's just a big money-grab.
ОтветитьI can't imagine anything tastes good enough to justify those prices. I doubt many bottles are actually consumed. Now, I think most people just collect it.
ОтветитьDown the rd from me 😊
ОтветитьI know where a 12 year is
ОтветитьI have had it. Let me unequivocally say it is NOT worth 2500. No whisky is. You can get goid whisky for 50 a bottle. Anything else is just a status symbol, but spend your money any way you want to.
ОтветитьI pay $150 for my 10 year this year, last year I paid $85.00
ОтветитьNot for taste alone.
Is a lambo worth it when you can get a vette that matches it’s specs?
It’s a conversation piece, something to share, memorable. What is that worth to you?
So to answer the question. No it’s not worth the money. But it is good. It’s very
Good.
Of course it isn't worth the money.
Ответитьnot my jam.. too tanniny and woodsy. leather?.. eww...
Ответитьhmm pay 2500 for something thatl give me a headache or 99 bucks for an ounce of 9.5/10 sticky icky.
ОтветитьFor value you need to pick a price point. So if you could buy this whiskey for $100 dollars 100% of the time then it scores a 100. If you never want to give out a score of 100, keep moving the price point up until you are comfortable with the score, and then rate the value off that price point.
ОтветитьWould love to have a bottle of Pappy but here in europe where i live the cheapest bottle i came across was priced at 1750euro's. 😅
ОтветитьSoccer moms got into bourbon and rich husbands wanted to keep their wives from bitching. They drove of the price.
ОтветитьYou should come to Duces Grill in Poughkeepsie NY
ОтветитьWhy proof and not percent? I’m Canadian so I don’t get it, I have to cut proof in half to figure it out
Ответить
