First Look: Threads, an Instagram app

People are overly worried with the Threads Vs X app success.

Let meta dance in confetti for their little success over the X platform. X is aiming to become a multifunctional platform and go far beyond the capabilities of WeChat. That's where people will start realising how big X really is and threads could polish its shoes.

The saddest part is that Threads could have been as good as Twitter used to be, but since Meta always destroys every platform they touch with their excessive convolution of timelines and their incredibly limiting exploitative algorithms, there's no chance that Threads will be enjoyable or genuinely rewarding to use. I remember back when I used to be able to find really quality content on Twitter. The world's greatest minds were on Twitter, sharing really valuable, fascinating ideas. Hilariously innovative comedians were on Twitter doing totally unique things. There were conversations that started on Twitter which shaped the entire cultural discourse and made the news. That will never, ever happen with a Meta social media platform. Even the things that made instagram better than Facebook are being progressively hacked away at by Facebook's totally unsophisticated and endlessly greedy agenda. There were special things on social media a little over a decade ago. Now it's all just basically the same mental health obliterating conveyor belt wherein the users are treated like cattle being shuffled mindlessly into containment areas where Facebook will only let you see what they want you to see and even if you follow a page or an account that you really care about, it won't make a difference when the algorithm is determined to suppress that thing. It's gotten to the point that they are actually alienating users and driving us away in search of other things, and there are no decent centralized social apps to take the place of the older iterations of Facebook and instagram and Twitter that actually meant something to people. You can go decentralized to Mastodon, but none of your friends will come along because 87% of people are so glued into the miserable void of Facebook that they don't have the concentration or the time to reevaluate their experience on social media or what they're missing out on while they'll scrolling through low satisfaction, low quality, disorienting, anxiety-inducing force-fed content funnels. There's no human connection on social media anymore and even if you try to subscribe to only high quality content, you will get "the top posts" instead. Absolutely bleak. I wanted to watch a review of Threads to see what it looked like in a moment of weakness and curiosity, but upon watching this I remembered that it's from Meta and thus cannot possibly be any more worthwhile than the monumental disappointments that instagram and Facebook and Elon's "X" 🥴have all already become. Even if it starts out decent, Facebook will be sure to ruin it because they have an aversion to letting anything joyful survive.

It's useless to use. You can not have a private connection or conversation..

And then when people did respond to my post that announced I’m leaving for good, I got “Bye Felicia” comments. I’m not going to stay if I’m treated like mud

I screwed myself and my family by thinking Instagram was simply a bypass or registration system for Threads. I don't feel Instagram-Threads warns enough that Instagram (I hardly use mine) is going to post a link that's going to allow everyone to see every post one makes on Threads 😮 I'm been posting stuff I wouldn't say (religion, politics, criticisms) and after a year I've found out the 'badge' has allowed lurking. Now removed both apps, bit the fallout is no-one is speaking to me. Thanks zuk.

Over the years, I’ve seen many videos trying to explain computer or phone related technology and how to use it. google , instagram , tiktok , is all the digital footprint I'm willing to risk .

Mastodon and Threads are better than Tik Tok because they are simple and do not glitch . The only downside is that they do not contain video , at least none that I could see .
