But the bible says that was a whale. How about that?
ОтветитьThere's the whole thing with the gourd plant and all. Is that included in the meaning of this lesson?
ОтветитьWow! Pharaoh went on to become the king of another state? That's not obvious from reading the bible! It makes a lot of sense and makes the Nineveh aspect of the Johana story much more important than I ever realized! Thank you Manis Friedman!
Ответитьit was tested yes a human can be taken in mouth of whale breathe and travel
Ответить🙏
ОтветитьAs an evangelical Christians it’s interesting how different belief systems interpret this story differently. At the heart of it all, it seems the story is about God’s compassion.
ОтветитьA huge problem in America the past two years is that we are NOT punishing those who do wrong TODAY.
ОтветитьDo you have historical evidence to prove that Pharoah was indeed the king of Nineveh at the time of Johnah?
ОтветитьIs going to jail for three nights the modern day version of Jonah and the whale?
ОтветитьYou skipped the whole part about the floating gourd giving Jonah shade.
ОтветитьYou missed the best part at the end of the book. God says I don’t need to punish
you, if you repent it’s enough. People want to punish not god.
What kind of shaggy fish and teenager story was that?
ОтветитьWhen he sais "He came across the seas" he was talking about the lakes of fire in space. I too have traversed through these seas.
ОтветитьI'll give you everything that you want and more. I never blamed you for not trusting me. I'll earn it. You need to believe. Or at least act as if you believe.
ОтветитьI already what needs to be done. I have found a method that we will find fair. I'll pass. Read my tweets. A mathematical theorem about 2 positive irrational allowing for unity/regeneration. Please hurry.
ОтветитьThe timeline seems off in the story.
ОтветитьYou have created part of the story from your own imagination . The story is told in Qura"n. But you chose not to learn the truth.
Ответитьthe Pharaoh of Nineveh and the Pharaoh of Egypt were not the same. In fact, the title "Pharaoh" was used exclusively for the rulers of ancient Egypt.
Nineveh, on the other hand, was an ancient Assyrian city located in what is now modern-day Iraq. The rulers of Nineveh were not referred to as Pharaohs but rather as kings, and the Assyrian kings held different titles and names from those of the Egyptian Pharaohs.
The story of Jonah in the Bible took place in Nineveh during the time of the Assyrian Empire, and there is no connection between the Pharaohs of Egypt and the rulers of Nineveh.
What happened to the gourd.
ОтветитьThis really blessed me. Question: When the Rabbi says God is only concerned about current sins and will deal with future sins when they happen, I think of God instructing King Saul, through the prophet Samuel, to wipe out the men, women and children of the Ammonites(?) because of their wickedness. Killing children implies that God was wiping out the evil these children will commit in the future. I’m confused 😐
ОтветитьRespectfully. Without any canonical or another reputable historical source of evidence cited we are supposed to believe that the harden Pharaoh of Exodus survived and lived on for several centuries and was ruling in Assyria…
ОтветитьHistorically the city of Nineveh was destroyed 100 years later because they fell back into sin.
ОтветитьWow. So the pharaoh of the exodus lived another 400 years to be the king of Nineveh in Jonah’s time. I know this is true, because some dude with a white beard said do.
ОтветитьHow can the farao of Egypt be the king of Nineveh when Jonah is dated 5 centuries later than the exodus from Egypt?
ОтветитьPharoah of Exodus, king of Nineveh the same one? Israel wandered for forty years before they settled and that took also some lengthy time. Some points I’ve not heard before, Jonah tried to flee the land of Israel as a prophet to avoid the penalty. I think Jonah was not to found of the Assyrians, a potential enemy to Israel or any neighbouring country. They were a cruel people used by the Lord to punish Israel. The story shows how great the Lord is. The lord has pity of all people, not just Israel. The amazing is that the people of Nineveh repented. To Jonah’s dismay.
ОтветитьPriest...How do you know Jonah didn't die and was resurrected????????? Humans cannot live in the belly of a fish.
ОтветитьWas the king of Nineveh who escaped the red sea? the time gap of first incidence and the second is too big. how can this be....
ОтветитьWith God ALLThings are possible
ОтветитьLearned something new
ОтветитьRabbi Manis, warm greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I must say that your exposition of Jonah's story is divinely inspired. So profound and thought provoking! Thank you so much for your ministry. It may interest you to know that the word "Manis" in our local language means "sweet". Hahaha
ОтветитьNo one asks how God spoke to Jonah?
ОтветитьI'm a Christian and I've read this story and known it my whole life. This is me 😢 I'm Jonah. Toda raba, Rabbi. 🙏💖 By your words of wisdom, I have begun a deeper understanding and relationship with God. Shalom
ОтветитьThis is very interesting...now I understand clearly. Thank you Rabbi Manis Friedman.😊
ОтветитьGod saved Ishmael not because he’s innocent & was a child but because Ishmael had a purpose to be fulfilled. If Ishmael being a child was innocent would had never try to corrupt Issac & he & his mother would never had to leave their home with Abraham. Of course God is merciful & he has compassion on all his creations.
Ответить😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьMoses lived hundreds of years apart from Jonah, so even if some lived to tell the story of the dead sea, they would not be alive in Jonah life time. So how can this be true?
ОтветитьThe lesson is God is merciful for all who turn from their sin. Even if they Don't accept him as their Lord going forward .
Let's not forget he is the creator of all
I just joined and loved this video thank you for sharing sir
ОтветитьI agree, Christianity is as batshit crazy as Judaism and Islam with or without Lilith and the talking donkey.
ОтветитьJONAH WAS 100% A FAKE STORY!
ОтветитьThank you Rabbi for this detailed explanation about Jonah the prophet. Very much meaningful.
ОтветитьRabbi... u got a job and you are doing it right for I can say u teach me more than anyone
ОтветитьI’ve always thought that when Jonah went into the Persian city, the reason people took notice and listened to him was his shocking appearance. Having spent 3 days in the whale, his hair must have been dissolved off, his skin bleached white, his body emaciated, and his clothing clothing tattered rags.
ОтветитьWhat did the people have to do repentance for? treating the Jews badly that's why Joanna hated them so much. I wish you would've went into what was the Kikion plant all about being that it only shows up in that story and nowhere else
Ответитьhail Jews
ОтветитьI genuinely appreciate the Gift of wise communication that God gave you. Thank You God, for gifts like this. I needed to hear this. Humbling
ОтветитьNot sure about Pharaoh being in Nineveh, but the rest is great and filled with wisdom.
Ответитьthank you Sr...your words means a lot...like your speech
