If I could have chosen a decade to grow up in it certainly would not have been the 1970's. Did everyone just collectively just lose their minds?? And then the baby boomers criticize the millenials for being dumb😂

I was 4 in 1970… and 13 in 1979. Great decade to grow up in. Being a teen in the 80s was also awesome.

I grew up in a 2 bedroom apartment in the Bronx. No shag carpet or wood paneling, just the occasional smell of auto exaust wafting up from the underground garage on the ground floor.

Both in '71. I remember watching every cop show with my dad. Ironside, Streets of San Francisco, The Rookies, etc. My Green Machine when everyone else had a Big Wheel. My metal roller skates with the key that older kids kept borrowing and bringing back set way too big. The snack bar at the roller rink. Summer camp. Getting driven to the arcade by my mom with a bunch of friends. Dance Fever and Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. Begging my dad to let me stay up to watch Dukes of Hazzard. Which I stretched into Dallas. Then Falcon Crest. My TRS-80 and the magic of computers. Thanksgivings surrounded by family and friends. Real Christmas activities the whole month of December. Being a kid in the 70's, a teen in the 80's, and a young adult in the 90's was a blessing I didn't realize was a blessing until it was long gone. I'd give anything to live it all again.

We rode bikes to Red Rocks Amphitheater and camped out on the seats or stage area. No one bothered us, and we didn't leave anything behind.

We weren't all into disco. All my friends were listening to Kiss, Aerosmith Queen, Rush. You know real music.

Nostalgia for the past. We all have it. Some fond memories and some not so fond. But the 70's was an exceptional decade for many things, especially movies.

When family was more than Facbook posts. Today I'm lucky to get a Birthday wish on a Facebook text from mere acquaintances while my own kids may or may not text me a birthday wish on my phone. Along with technology...people have grown cold. I will always miss the family closeness in the 70s .❤

Disco wasn't really prevalent till close to the end of the decade. Although the tune "Rock the boat" (1975) was arguably the "first" disco tune, disco fever didnt reach its height until 1977-78. So you can't really say the 70's was the disco era. There was NO disco from 1970 to 1976, it just didnt exist.
