Finally someone that made an Au Ra! I always feel so lonely with my little Au Ra.
I can't really remember how my first time was in FF14 but now I am Level 70... I switched from DD to Tank and I love the community there. You can whisper to someone, complimenting them or they whisper to you ask if you need help. It is great. They are all so nice.

New FFXIV player here. My main is GW2 and am already massively unimpressed with FFXIV after a couple of hours. City is completely devoid of ambient sounds.The only sounds i hear are squelchy footsteps. Really bad quality (bland) and repetitive music plays constantly - so annoying. The lack of voice acting makes the whole expereince utterly lifeless. A poor quality map also adds to the overall frustration. Am concurrently playing Neverwinter for a laugh and frankly it's much more fun than this.

Going to start my journey here in 2023 here with the wife, we are both new to gaming and have some friends that won’t shut up about this game, looks good! Can’t wait to play and see what crazy things we will see! 😅
