Going from development to DevOps seems like a downgrade to me after watching your video...
ОтветитьBest way to learn and to advance is through practice. I don't think there are shortcuts in transitioning to DevOps and you still need a decent computing background if you want to start from scratch with both Dev and Ops practices.
ОтветитьMarveling at this? A book with symmetrical content would be a great next read. "AWS Unleashed: Mastering Amazon Web Services for Software Engineers" by Harrison Quill
ОтветитьI have 10yrs of Career in ITIL , can i move to Devops ?
ОтветитьAny suggestions on on companies willing to get a intern at Kubernetes?
ОтветитьI love your intros 😢
ОтветитьPure knowledge, no bullshit. I like this guy.
Ответитьand there is a scrum master 😮🤣...i died
Ответить👍
ОтветитьAs a non-developer working in a team of devs, this was a great overview to help me see how all the pieces fit together. It would be even better if you could slip in the occasional "she" or "they" into your hypothetical conversations so they are more inclusive.
But overall I thought the content and pacing was really terrific, thank you!
Are you always on call?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this break down. I took notes thorough your video, and as I was going, I realized that I'm almost a DevOps engineer now at my current company and had no idea. I just need some certs and more time on some certain things and I could make this work. Your video really simplified what seemed like a mountain of things to overcome and figure out. Im going to go out and buy a whiteboard now lol.
Ответитьthat awkward silence on "ohhh and there is a Scrum master" ....dead
Ответитьver depois
ОтветитьI pray to God , that we all go to the stone age again.
ОтветитьCan we search God and leave this earth, instead.
ОтветитьHi, can I transition from a product designer to devops please? As a self taught
ОтветитьYou forgot one very important aspect. Communication with lots of different people. As DevOps guy, you need to be able to communicate with almost every part of the organization. Especially if you are working in a larger project with lots of teams and people.
ОтветитьI fit in group 2. 10 year experiecen in industry and manufacturing. did a lot of operation improvement specialising in Lean culture development.
PMP certiufied also. (thought of getting the agile practitionner certificate too)
I would like to get into IT... yet withourt loosing all of my experience, and rather build upon it.
Yet a friend told me to better get into DEVOPS.
what would you advise me best?
Developer => DevOps
No experience => DevOopse
Best video .
ОтветитьThat´s exactly what I was looking for to start this new path! Amazing content.
Ответить.... everybody is moving away from cloud! And then there are ... build systems, artifactories, code quality, SecOps, compliance, secret management, PKI, observability and list goes on and on... :)
ОтветитьHey Travis , I really like your video content it's really helpful. I wanted to request you make video or look into the toughness of current job market (2023) for entry level developers and give some advice. The entry level job almost does not exist !! All of them wants experienced developer. How to get into industry for newcomers? I would look forward to your opinions. Thank you for awesome videos!!
ОтветитьHey I just discovered this video/your channel. I'm a Cloud Engineer (3yrs) I used DevOPs tools and humbly disagree with you on a few points...
You don't really need to know a programming language. I don't know any and I'm good. Coming from an IT ops background.
There are several other options, so...
PowerShell over Bash (just my preference)
All monitoring solutions/products are pretty much like for like, I've been in IT for over 20yrs and there all pretty much the same.
Good video tho 👍
Amazing explanation! thumbs up and subbed!!
ОтветитьAmazing 🎉❤
ОтветитьHow long the intro about not having intro did go? The intro about no intro was never ending and I couldn't watch the video any longer.
ОтветитьI started my journey 3 months ago and edureka have made me understand alot I'm confused about even though I'm still confused but I ma still following my road map and I wish to get a mentor
ОтветитьHI Travis, do i need to learn all about python or are there specific topics I need to focus on. thanks
ОтветитьDevOps, for people who can't program but are good at learning closed tooling.
Thankyou all DevOps engineers for taking the crap out of my job. Still confused why you'd earn as much as me.
Dude dont let people rob you of the joy or making intros.
ОтветитьScrums is a subset of agile, not the inverse 😅
ОтветитьHi @TravisMedia, I am a fresher and wanted to choose DevOps as my career. So thinking to start a learning from scratch. Could you let me know which cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) is better and have best opportunities in future.
And also could you let me know what are the main certifications I need to go through in Cloud platform and in other necessary tools?
promosm
ОтветитьSir I like your way of explaining things in details without missing or skipping, especially when you are giving an advice to newbie’s. So please keep doing what you doing, you are enlightening us giving us all the information and knowledge, thank you very much and God bless you.
Ответитьif no coding background
Ответитьoh and there's a scrum master...🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьĹ
Ответитьcome on travis do an intro
ОтветитьI kinda a person who want to change career every year 2021 Data analyst career, 2023 Backend career ,2024 career goal Devops
ОтветитьThat was smooth. Just what I was looking for
ОтветитьThe pause after "there is also a scrum master..." Had me rolling. 😂
The scrum master truly is one of the people of all time. 😅
I've been working as a DevOps engineer for a little over 2 years and the things mentioned in this video relate very closely to my experience thus far. Great video. :)
Loved the pause after "there is a scrum master".
For bash: push hard against it and introduce another sane shell like xonsh, which is python.
Have been writing thousands of lines of bash scripts in my career, don't go there, it leads to pain for everyone.
Wonderful presentation
ОтветитьHow i learn AWS .
