ОтветитьIndia was famous for its cotton cloth. It was very fine and preferred by nobility and the rich all over the world.
They say it was so fine, 9 yards could fit into a match box. Also that when soaked, it was so transparent you could not make out the cloth.
We still have amazing khadi malmal that is really amazing to feel and wear in India.
No credit given to Original cotton gin CREATOR...

Allah said in the Qur'an :
(20) Do you not see that Allāh has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

ОтветитьHas something changed in the processing of cotton material within the last 5-10 years? I ask because I used to love 100% cotton sheets. Now I (and a multitude of others) have similar complaints to my experience - as posted in endless reviews on every type of weave, brand and cost of bedding sheets you can imagine. I can’t find any on the market that aren’t so rough they feel like I’m sleeping on sand paper or burlap. Imaging scrubbing you hands with a Magic Sponge (don’t do this) you hands will feel RAW, like your skin has been sanded (because it has).
So - what crazy change has been made in cotton sheet fabric to make it mimic the feeling like it’s sanding your flesh with a magic sponge? Has ALL cotton on the market been genetically modified to be rougher? processing?, not ginning it clean enough? combing enough? or some crazy thread weave? that has turned the resulting material into sandpaper against human skin?
Please - someone needs to look into this. No amount of clever techniques of washing improves the sheet texture…so I’ve retuned the expensive sheets I’ve bought and mended my older sheets…Guess eventually I’ll will have to switch to non-cotton. Not something I want to do, but after days of research and buying fiascos. I’m giving up.
What confuses me is why does the FDA has to be involved for textile production? It's not like I am gonna be eating cotton for dinner. Is it more so for the resultant seeds and they might as well grade the textiles along with it?
