Building a house but Every Room is 1 Tile Bigger (Sims 4 Challenge)

i would looovvve to see you play in any of the houses you build

Idea for when I try this challenge. If I want every room to have windows, I’ll put one of the biggest rooms in the middle as a corridor.

Challenge idea : Building a house but the TYPE of room is randomized? For example, you would build a flexible layout with a front and back door, but every room type is decided for you randomly, so what you intended to be an entryway could be a bathroom?

This looks like the houses in my city. They're all big old Victorians, but I've the years they have fallen prey to apartmentization and rennovators with big ideas and no sense. No one has any money, so the houses are just like this: big, crazy and dingy

This house is so nostalgic. There are so many neighborhoods in my city where the way the rooms connect don’t make any sense and no one can afford to fix it up. You had to go through one bedroom to get to another and the bathroom because it was originally a master bedroom with a living area but section 8 said hey any room is a bedroom! Including the living room lol. It was okay but eventually we got too old for bunk beds and then we were squished

The house at the end of my street looks a lot like this. Tall dingy fence, very run down boarded walls, a lot of old cars out front with weeds growing out of them. People actually live there.

it's giving run down horror puzzle video game, reminds me of resident evil where you have to unlock new rooms and learn your way back through what you've explored. i love it :)

I think I'm going to try this. I think you could easily make a one tile a closet or pantry and the two tile a closed off bathroom. And archways would definitely make it seem more natural

That kitchen is exactly like my real-life kitchen, it's triggering 😂 I hate my kitchen lol

I'm thinking you could also heavily use mirrors through out the house to give the illusion of space when there actually isn't any. The human mind is easily fooled.

I loved this challenge and decided to do it too I ended up with one of my favorite builds, a preppers house with hidden basement and everything a family would need to live off the grid when things go down!

this reminds me so much of like a grandmother's house. where its all cluttered and small but a lot of rooms and it feels musty but cozy and familiar

I'm rather late to the ideas here, but this video just popped up for me after having watched some of the more recent videos you've released, an idea I had though based on your own self reflection in this video is a house with only blacks, whites and greys, like a mimes house or something, or a retro tv style house.

i feel like in this challenge, it could also be mansion style with ante rooms (the windowless rooms in the middle), storage rooms, lots of hallways, and all that.

I'm going to try this next time I'm on the game.... except the smaller rooms would be a big hallway down the middle of the house, so probably tiles 1-5 could just be a hallway, and then the bigger rooms could be bedrooms and living spaces. That's not cheating, right?!

I hate this and love it. It's very old cramped style was probably renovated in the 80s and never touched again.

I mean this is the perfect communist grandma house! It really reminds me of the apartments that used to be in the former Czechoslovakia during the Communist era, because everything was just ugly colours, lot of items crammed together and very little space around. Also the rooms had (and still have tbh) weird nooks in them, that make no sense, and it's not uncommon to have rooms with no windows. Usually, a small bathroom is right in the centre of the flat, no windows there. Love to see it in the Sims, haha!

u could’ve used rooms to shape the exterior and fill spaces in the interior (w rooms like 1-5)

Instead of doing a room with 10 tiles
I think it would make more sense to do a floor with 10 tiles and the rooms around. So you don’t have random placed rooms
