ОтветитьThank you. I am a young Senior who has inadvertently let a bunch of muscle groups go due to inactivity. I'm very interested now in strengthening the muscles to maintain Mobility. Your exercises seem important but easy enough for a beginner lacking in some flexibility and muscle mass.

I had a tumour (benign) attached to my right sacroiliac joint. To remove it involved major surgery. I have been left with a weakened, right sided glute, which causes pain along with lack of mobility.
I would like to try these exercises. In this regard, and as my glute is so weak, what would you advise, please, to gradually strengthen?

ОтветитьI had a bad accident 4 months ago and I discharged myself from rehab and I need to strengthen this muscle. I shattered my hip / pelvis and feet and more. I think this is the muscle that’s stopping me from using this muscle properly, I can’t walk it’s so weak so am in a wheelchair. Il see if these help. I can’t even lift it up at the moment. Really wanting to walk now. Thank u for this! Il have to get some exercise bands ASAP 🥰

ОтветитьHi Doctor Jo ..thank you so much for all your hard work on these videos. I love the careful attention to detail that you provide. I have weak left side, so I have had a constant hip ache on the right side for over a year when I walk and run around the glut medius and slightly into hamstrings. I believe I am overcompensating and putting more weight on the right due to the weak left side. Your exercises are definitely helping and I do not have as much of a hip ache. I just wonder whether I should just be strengthening the weaker side (the left), rather than also strengthening the right, or must you always do the same exercises on each side? Your help is gratefully appreciated.

ОтветитьHi Dr Jo, I am a subscriber and I want to thank you for your advice. I am at a level where I am doing one legged bridges. What I would like to know is when performing one or two legged bridges, is it more important to hold the bridge for as long as you can or is it more beneficial to do more of them.
ОтветитьDr. Jo Thanks for the great videos. I had lumbar surgery (no fusion, just cleaned up the foraminal channels to make room for nerves) My surgeon said squats are always bad, but these seem pretty safe....thoughts?

I’m just starting to focus on strengthening my glutes as I’m 51 as they feel weak, and I have back issues, etc. I’m also in decent shape yet muscle strengthening now. How often would suggest doing this routine to really benefit from the exercises? How many sets, reps and then how many times per week. Thank you so much for helping us.
ОтветитьHi DoctorJo, I have snapping hip syndrome with my right hip. My physical therapist told me to do bridge exercise, but every time I do this with my legs about hip width apart, my right hip pops. It only stops popping when I do wide stance bridge, which I keep my feets wider than my hips then I can do it normally without popping. Is it harmful for my knees or hips if i keep doing bridge that way? Sorry for my bad English.
