There is only so much you can do with raw power if you can't use modern techniques. PlayStation geometry engine is built of primitive shaders. That's shit is old. Xbox series has mesh shaders along with most modern GPU.

You want to know why your game perform badly. The PS5 has old shitty hardware and processes (even shittier than the S) and it's the target.

Mesh shaders support primitive shaders even tho it doesn't perform as well. So all devs build their rendering pipeline with the PS5 in mind since it will work on everything else.

I said this before and people got mad but the pro is already proving it. 60% bigger GPU, AI upscaling and still shitty performance. Almost like power wasn't the issue. And if Sony didn't cheap out on its hardware we'd have a better gen.

The PS5 Pro will help get a higher resolution at 60 fps for existing games, and better visual quality at 30 fps for existing games.

Hi mate, what spoiled Alan Wake 2 for me was lack of reflections in mirrors and lack of decent reflections on water on console. I never expected the Pro to deliver 60 fps with ray tracing in this title but it is a shame there is no 40 fps 120hz with Ray Tracing option. Then again I guess we can’t expect Remedy to work miracles in a short space of time by launch either.

I did see without heavy use of DLSS a 4090 definitely did struggle with max settings. Perhaps the 5090 will be much better for this game lol.

The only thing that kept me from playing the game is the turn-based combat system that game has. His mod is in the beginning stages, but I am keeping an eye out for it to see how it plays when he finishes it. I don't even need it to be good; passable will do. If it is passable, I'll be l copping that game as well since the mod will make it playable for me.

The problem with the PS5 Pro is the fact that they are still using the same CPU which is upclocked to match the Xbox Series X CPU now. So, of course that console isn't going to hit 60 to 120FPS all the time. We'll have to wait till next Gen for CPU improvements.

Yaaawwwnn. I haven't been impressed with game pass this year at all. If it doesn't get better for my personal tastes it is probably time to quit and let it go until they pick it up. Personal tastes thing but for all of the people that are into Japanese games it is awesome news.

Alan Wake 2 is a crazy tough game to run with high resolution and frames. Cool looking game though.

If Nine Sold takes my mind off Silk song I will be happy. A good Metroid Vania is always welcome
