Correction! Proxmox DOES support dynamic expansion for drives, but they placed the setting in the least obvious place (and it's only available on ZFS or iSCSI, not CIFS). Under Datacenter/Storage, select your ZFS pool and check the 'Thin Provision' box. This will enable dynamic expanding drives and saves you TONS of storage. Plus, it takes away my only complaint of the OS thus far. Thanks @salat for helping figure out what the issue was!
ОтветитьHello, I don't understand you need install proxmox to another empty drive or you need install to your system drive?
ОтветитьGreat videos ! I've looked for remote access to the Proxmox Web console UI - Do you have any tips on best method and practices (and the most secure) to remote connect to the Proxmox VE Server Web console UI without connection going through some sort of central pipe, like VPN or Cloudflare or such. I want to connect to my Proxmox Web UI remotely as I travel a lot and don't want messy subscriptions either. Perhaps you could add this topic to your already great tutorial video collection :)
Ответитьwhen you speak, you need to SLOW THE F@CK DOWN. Geesh! Super annoying trying to keep up you've done a line a speed before you start recording.
ОтветитьHow were you able to get a share folder out of Proxmox and transfer an iSO to it? Is there no way to just grab the iSO from a windows share and load that into the VM? I am not very good at PXE booting and I don't quite understand what you meant by "USB Key/share".
ОтветитьChrome sits and spins at trying to connect to the server address
Ответитьwhy can't i log in proxmox ? i have user and password . but after enter root and password , i klick enter !! something is wrong !! it apear some lines and it stop kind of ( tty1 ) nothing happend !
ОтветитьI am stuck on the step where I should be using another device to access the server via the IP address url. I cannot get the page to pull up. It is typed in correctly but never works in different browsers and different devices.
ОтветитьSo the computer running proxmox is not the same computer you use to access the VM right?
ОтветитьThat’s a fine hat you have there sir
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьJust a comment about the display. It would be very useful if the pip with you in it was a bit smaller and further to the corner so that the choices to which you refer are visible to the viewer. My suspicion is that the pip is added after the fact and possibly sized a bit too large or out of position for the dialog windows which invariably pop up in the center of the screen. Nicely done, though.
ОтветитьThanks for the video, I was unable to set up an smb/nfs/cifs share as "export" and "share" just say scanning and then fail.
ОтветитьYou should consider explaining with a block diagram or something, I lost you in the windows file explorer as you said in the FreeNAS.
If proxmox acts as container then why install docker in it!
love this vid.. really really helpful...
but I am not sure your statement about not using your local OS drive as a storage pool is correct.. I was able to do it..
Thank you!
ОтветитьCan I run proxmox on an amd 8-core minipc?
