This ALIENS VR Game is SO INTENSE! // Fireteam Elite VR Mod (UEVR)

I've said it a hundred times, and I'll probably say it 100 more. A lot of VR games don't have staying power because the only thing that makes them remotely good is being in VR.

What so mini game makers don't seem to understand, is that you need to make a good game first and foremost. Then let it be playable in VR.

Say it another way, if your game would be lackluster and boring as a pancake game, you have failed.

That's why, at least for me, all of my best experiences in VR have been mods of non VR games. Or post release VR updates. Like the first of the Forest games.

Skyrim, and Fallout are two other examples.

But then you take something like after the fall, which was a game trying to be left for dead in VR, and it falls flat on its face. Like it was fun for a weekend, but that's it. Because the substance of the game was the fact that it was in VR.

VR should be the cherry on top, not the filling.

I’ve messed around with the UEVR injector, it was pretty straightforward to get running. My only issue was the nausea I got shortly into a session. I don’t do so well with slide movement.

If I spend a lot of time in VR over a couple months I get really solid VR legs, but soon as I give it a break I go right back to baseline.

Acid is a proton donor. So once its full reacted it no longer burns.

I just love having VR with IK avatars. The floating guns/hands I just can't. I used UEVR for a few games though and I do agree it is incredible and a necessary step towards getting more people to atleast try VR.

I love isolation, but this game is too arcade.. in VR no have fearf effect... and lots of enemy is contraproductive.. Bored after 1 hour

@beardo Benjo Did youfix the enemy AI with the settings edit? There was a typo in the settings that can be fixed to greatly improve the AI on this game from what i hear. Might wanna google it up, its a super easy fix.

I'd tried the UEVR, can't make it work properly. Maybe I'm too stupid to do it 😢

i will not play VR until they put hand animations in place. Flying weapons is not my thing.

What about anti cheat and UEVR?

I really tried hard and the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.
Tried Ride 5, Robocop and Pacific Drive.
Just couldn't get them going satisfactorily.
If I didn't have work and the daily grind to worry about I'd probably make more of an effort to learn it myself from the ground up.
With Pacific Drive I even installed all the tools from discord that were supposed to make it easy. Still feel foul of going in and out of VR as there was things to do that required keyboard. To annoying

And, as usual, it doesn't work. It's the same with all of these UEVR videos. Looks awesome and flawless here. Try to run it on my PC and it's jank. Using the profile with no edits to it, the game starts in VR, but moving forward with the motion controls also tries to use your Health Packs, so sometimes you move forward, but most of the time, you get a ding noise letting you know that you don't have any Health packs, because you used them up trying to move forward. Playing through Virtual Desktop, and it looks like trash. Try playing through Steam Link and the controls won't work at all. No way to bring up the in-game menu through the controllers. Stutters like that kid from Billy Madison.
I have a high end PC, AMD Ryzen with an 6750XT GPU.
And it's not just this game. Every single game I've tried with UEVR looks and runs like dog feces.

Does anyone know where you can download profiles for each game using UEVR? I can't seem to find any anywhere. I heard that some get shared on discord, but not even sure where to find them there.

Alien isolation is probably my favorite game to play in VR. It’s not even a real Vr game but it’s my favorite game to play. It’s crazy how good it looks and runs

the acid stops once its saturated. acid molecules fall apart when they react to other substances. It´s called a reaction equasion. Acid doesn´t delete substance, it rearranges it on a molecular level.

Almost nothing I want in VR is on unreal engine is my problem.

IIRC, there are ways to take parts of the HUD element and attach them to items or your other controller. The HUD is a 2D element, so portion of the element is copied and attached to other elements. Also, in UEVR your HUD tends to be sized based on what you set your monitor's resolution to, not your VR headset. So set it to a smaller size, and the HUD elements look bigger and likely easier to read.

Yeah UEVR definitely needs a way to to search for profiles inside the app. I'm a professional and as tech savvy as they come, but setting up UEVR is REALLY annoying and trying to find profiles through discord is just silly.

I'd have to disagree! I'd say an acid-induced hull breach would be the least of your problems if faced with with waves of Xenomorphs!

Dude I'd love to try UEVR, but i can't even bloody download the thing without turning off a bunch of antivirus programs and fiddling with other windows settings, smh.

You should try the new System Shock remake in UEVR, it works and looks great. I've been playing it a bit.

I think people have bigger problem how those mods run like shit even on the best hardware.
On top they look like shit, with broken TAA and half of effects. I have yet to play any fan made PCVR mod that performs in an accaptable matter, i think HL2VR and Portal2VR are the only ones i liked since i guess the ancient games dont need that much optimization.

This is what worries me, I think the upcoming Alien Vr game is gonna feel like a short linear thing and between this, which was my first uevr game and alien isolation, by far the best Alien experience it's gonna feel shallow. Fireteam Elite as games go is kinda mid VR makes it amazing in comparison.

I also tried this with uevr, it was almost well playable on a 3080, which is very unusual for uevr in general, but the game is just boring as heck.. just shooting at waves of stupid and weak aliens..

I tried this but the UI was so annoying I just couldn't enjoy it.
That and the bad controls. You can turn off the hud but that makes things VERY very difficult.

I wish there was a way to just have the UI be persistent to your head and not your arms.

the acid stops, because there are no more molecules that can interact with metal molecules and make liquid substance. That is why your stomach acid doesn’t burn the whole you when you have gastritis (and it’s totally capable)

How well will this run on a RTX2080 Super?

not a science major or anything but i think the acid melts the metal, the molten metal dilutes the acid, which at some point becomes so diluted that it will not melt metal.

Have you tried GTFO in VR? This seems more action-y

Being a newer vr player I'm mostly focused on VR native games still. Once I start running out of vr native games I'll be using this a lot.

Alien Isolation is an absolute masterpiece,
but I also liked Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

conversations with crew members...
,really great.

Aliens: Dark Descent is also supposed to be very good.

I hope Alien: Rogue Incursion joins the ranks,
in the high quality Alien-Games.

To bad the current version of UEVR doesn't properly work with newer versions of unreal engine after its release. Sad face 😔
I tried it the recent update of Titanic: Honor and Glory 403 demo v 2.2 and it doesn't work even tho the app is a unreal engine app. 😠☹️

I'm in the camp of "don't own a lot of Unreal games that work with the injector and am not thrilled about the idea of buying more games and then being disappointed by them". The few games I have tried with it were "okay" but not amazing.
