How To Make A Simple DIY Blacksmith Forge Out Of Cardboard

As a hobbyist maker, I am well experienced in metal working such as welding, grinding and machining on my projects. Recently, I wanted to make a knife for myself and needed a way to heat bigger pieces of steel. I have always wanted to dabble into blacksmithing but could not. Primarily, this is do to the fact that I do not own a forge.



As a result, I came up with this idea to use cardboard as a liner for the mud to be compacted around. This is a very inexpensive approach for someone wanting to get into blacksmithing, literally costs nothing. You just need an blower air source like a leaf blower or hair dryer.



I made this forge for future blacksmithing and knife making needs. In the future I will fabricate a real forge, all of which will be posted to this channel so be sure to subscribe and hit the bell!
