Dr Furlan, When Spinal Stenosis finally brought me to me knees, I knew I had to do something and it was not going to be surgery. Providence brought me to You Tube and to your series. I have now been using your 10 exercises daily routine for about 6 weeks. Progress initially was slow but has picked up measurably. My initial step average/day was about 4.4K, but this week I raised it to 7.0K steps. I am watching improvement happen in real time. Have been combining your exercise routine with some I learned from PT as well as some gym workout. Results are amazing. While I am not out of the woods yet, I am ecstatic with my progress. Many Thanks,

These are exercises for simple stenosis, not those who suffer a great deal. I have lumber spinal stenosis and none of those exercises are suitable. A complete waste of time an not possible to achieve with complications of hip arthritis and scoliosis. Amateur. Beware.

Dr. Fulton, God brought me to your videos. Your exercises help me a lot. I am
desperate because I can't make 10 steps. I've got a spinal stenosis. I think after covid 19. Thank you, you are not only do for, but a born teacher.

The relaxation poses are great! However, I cannot do any of “walking” exercises without extreme pain. I have spondylolisthese, spinal stenosis, and bilateral pars defect at L4-L5. All exasperated by a car accident. I’ll have a spinal fusion soon. I used to be very acitve in low impact aerobics. These exercises are impossible for me in my current state. Is there something wrong with me that I can’t do any of your exercises?

I'm just coming across your video and what you described is exactly my situation...Hip osteoarthritis, lumbar spondylitis or stenosis with severe low backache and pains down to the legs especially on walking,. I'm most times sitting or lying down and scared of trying to walk except I take pain killers.. I will try and start up these exercises and see how far I can go. Thanks.

Is there some way to modify these exercises or other exercises that can be done without getting on the floor? I have knee problems that make it nearly impossible for me to get back up from the floor without causing severe pain and swelling in my knees.

Thanks Doc, you provide a few excellent ideas to reduce the pain of lumbar spinal stenosis. I do have spinal stenosis and foraminal stenosis (age 80 yrs). My doctor says the pain is almost all from spinal stenosis, and that foraminal stenosis isn't usually the culprit.

A 'spin-off' of one of your ideas is to do 30 second squats with the feet wide apart (3 feet and more). It should start with gentle squats, with a little bounce action (gently rise a bit, and squat a bit, etc.). In time the squats can get a little deeper as you get stronger, if it feels better. I've never seen this wide-stance-squat discussed anywhere, but what I think it does is to gradually widen (temporarily?) the bottom area of the spinal canal a wee bit. I'm not a doctor or physio expert etc. just an old guy with a very painful lower back due to spinal stenosis. In my case this version of squatting has greatly reduced my stenosis pain (over a few weeks) to the extent I can walk for a mile and more without having to sit.

Yes I will try those exercises have the same pain you said. For years I even had knee replacement 14 months ago. I’ve had years of physical therapy that didn’t give much relief. I also had last year in November and epidural shot. That gave much relief, for only 4 or 5 months. Also have a doctor appointment tomorrow with a PA see if there’s any way to have to epidural. Found out as of January 2023 Medicare will not pay if you have anesthesia with the epidural. I have severe reflux, so I cannot lay down without coughing.
