Impressed on a whole lot of different levels here; impressed with the shovel, which is actually a useful multitool. And definitely impressed with a reliable, warm, shelter which should be completely safe from carbon monoxide poisoning, if the air-ducts are properly maintained.
And I love the raised bed - an additional safety feature against carbon monoxide poisoning when sleeping near an open fire. That’s what they do in the rondavels in the higher mountainous areas of South Africa, where believe it or not, it gets pretty frigid in the winter. The raised beds reduces deaths from cmp, keeping that old tokoloshe at bay (that’s a whole other story! 😂)
There are a couple of tweaks that others have suggested, but all in all, great presentation.
It’s Tipi not tepee at least learn how to spell it
ОтветитьWe have a teepee and you don't really need the tunnels but when I d use them I face the teepee east and only make one tunnel to the west.
Ответитьgirl knows nothing about teepees and camping
ОтветитьA tipi can be smoke-free the outer cover should be a couple inches off the ground the inner liner usually they take logs and roll up on the ground the bottom of the liner so it's sealed around
you only need a small covered trench to go to the fire and once you have a trench , as you do, you can actually stuff insulation between the liner and the TP if you don't have a trench then the liner needs to have gaps so that air can come in under the cover and up between the liner and the cover over your head and down to the far that's where the liner does it keeps the air from coming in other places because it comes in between the liner in the cover but since you have trenches you can put insulation between the liner and the cover all the way around and if you close the door and so forth the air comes in the trench to the fire goes straight up
The smoke flap poles go around to the back of the TP and the smoke flaps are used to keep air from blowing directly down the hole so you can turn the smoke flaps in one direction or another to keep them air from blowing down the whole ATP can be a very comfortable all year round and winter and summer environment the Tipi book will really help...
Please read THE TIPI BOOK

ОтветитьHow would you transport all those bricks?
ОтветитьJesus!,are you building a concrete house or you want just camp?!....i understand the function but you need a truck to get everything on campsite.
ОтветитьHow can I buy a tent like this
ОтветитьThat my girl is awesome excellent job !!❤😅
ОтветитьFire must be below the exist air tunnel and above the entering air tunnel. The heat rises and causes the vacuum to pull the smoke out through tunnel
ОтветитьI like the way you say “tippy”. We say “Teeee Peeee”…but don’t change it, cause it’s cute. Great video..loved the shovel. Peace and Blessings
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьthat was very good! wonder I if you are native American ha ha.
ОтветитьFor your tunnel to work, you need to seal the tepee all around to the ground.
ОтветитьПривет! Если вам нетрудно, скажите какая ткань лучше всего подойдет для типи? А и ещё, в Сибири в ней будет уютно?
ОтветитьI love that shovel. It has everything! I wish i could afford one.
ОтветитьBeen using a 16’ Cheyenne Lodge (TIPI) for over 30 years and have never dug an air tunnel. That being said you made a nice video and did garner some sound advice in a few spots.
Put one up in a camp ground and you will meet every camper there. Side note: tipi erection was the women’s job 200 years ago. Wado
That smoke made me real dizzy it will destroy your hemoglobin in red blood cells and it can kill you you could put the fire outside you know I make a filing cabinet with holes drilled in it then you could bring just the coals and it wouldn’t be as much smoke but I don’t even bring that in anymore I leave it outside downwind from me so that it takes a smoke away
ОтветитьStep one...get a lodge pole and learn how to use the smoke flaps...what are you doing here?
ОтветитьI cant find the fancy shovel on amazon, - even using the ling. The ones thats coming up, doesnt have the firesteel in them. Anyone have an other link?
ОтветитьLove ya God Bless ya ❤️👍
ОтветитьI've seen many camping videos, dug outs etc and you are the first one who knows how to build a fire. Were you a Girl Scout?
ОтветитьCual es el nombre de la pala y donde puedo conseguirla?
ОтветитьI had a friend who used a similar method with his yurt. Although he would dig the trench to the outside and cover it within three feet of the fire with a piece of plywood. From there on in he would use clay pipe, and then he actually used a piece of 6-in sewer pipe. The wood never burnt
ОтветитьI LOVE how capable this woman is. I’m in awe
ОтветитьJUST BOUGHT THE SURVIVAL SHOVEL TO BE USED DURING TRIPS ON MY 21 RE HIMALAYAN MOTORCYCLE. I HAVE LIVED IN VARIOUS SIZED TIPIS- FROM 14' TO 20' HERE IN THE ROCKIES OF COLORADO- TELLURIDE AREA. I TRIED THE SAME METHOD- ONCE.. DID NOT WORK OUT FOR ME!!! SO, FROM THAT DAY ON I ALWAYS PUT IN A SMALL WOOD BURNING/COOKING STOVE AND RAN THE PIPE OUT AT THE TOP OF THE LACING PINS... SO WHEN IT RAINED OR SNOWED THE SMOKE FLAPS WERE POSITIONED AROUND ANOTHER PIPE- LARGE COFFEE CAN, ETC. THUS, WET OUTSIDE- DRY AND WARM INSIDE! ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE DWELLING- EAGLE-SAN IN CO.
ОтветитьOmg you are my dream woman lol
ОтветитьWhy didn't she fold the blade down into a hoe it would have been so much easier on he arms but she's persistent that was pretty cool
ОтветитьSay there lilly the only way that the smoke is going to go any other way except up is to have a draw on the vents on the ground you don't need feeds from out side - take a look at the people living at the attic circle -you have so much air coming around the bottom of your teepee like to watch you thoe good luck to you
ОтветитьI met a native american who taught army rangers survival. His solution to smoke reduction was to put a short section of chimney pipe up at the top opening of the tipi.
ОтветитьCool idea but I think putting in these more permanent items defeats the purpose of a portable shelter such as yours.
ОтветитьI don’t know what kind of boots you have on but Rocky makes a great boot called the S2V. I’ve put mine through it in the past 5 years and they’re still tough as nails.
ОтветитьI guess that's what you can call a failure
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьGet a little blow pipe for the fire , it’s a lot better
ОтветитьPretty sure this is a fail…and you’d be dead by morning from carbon monoxide poisoning
ОтветитьHumm
ОтветитьWhat a sweet cool.. and being able to just attach to your belt and comes with a fairing stick. 👍👍👍👍👍 I like it like!!!
ОтветитьThe natural updraft of the fire caused by the heat rising is what makes it draw air in from both sides, the open flame of the fire is burning all the oxygen supply it can so the two tunnels you created allow air in at the bottom of the fire to help it burn clean. How ever a teepee is basically a chimney drawing cool air in from around the base and rising inside to escape out the top and you are inside the chimney so when you stang up in the chimney your will be subjected to more of the smoke and fumes.
ОтветитьLove 💕
ОтветитьAdjust your air flaps according to wind direction so you can create proper drafts
Ответитьleave it to a German to install floor heating into a tent xD
ОтветитьЛучше используй не хвойные породы для костра. Они дают много искр, а это опасно.
ОтветитьI know this video is old but I bought that same shovel Lily that you have because of this video and it is awesome thank you
ОтветитьSchlechteste Schaufelwerbung, die ich je gesehen hab😂😂
