ОтветитьI miss 3d space screen saver
ОтветитьF***ing Windows 98.
ОтветитьFeeling special since I started from DOS with Norton Commander, then Windows 3.11, 95 and on Win11 now :-) Going from Trident 2MB ISA video card through RTX 4090 brings lots of memories..
ОтветитьEven tho i am only 38 i have been through MS-Dos,Win 3.1,win95,win 98 etc. When i tell some people hownit used to be they straight up don't believe it.
ОтветитьThe C&C Reference made my day, found it on steam....
ОтветитьTimes during installation of software if the mouse was moved the file system would get corrupted one needed to park the HDD there was competition between Cyrix , Intel and AMD CPU's etc brings back memories PC tools with disk defrag diagnostics.
ОтветитьMy first computer usage was during the hour-long computer labs, and I think we were using Apple IIs, but I really cut my teeth on Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows XP.
I've also used Windows Vista, Windows 7, and now Windows 10. I've got to say that my favorite was probably Windows XP; I've gone back to Microsoft after getting tired of my now out-of-date Google Chromebook, and I supplement that with my Android device, and I barely use the upgraded 7 running Windows 10 because it's just not the same. Give me XP any day, I think that was the sweet spot. Maybe the technology was better for my thinking process, maybe life was better for me overall.
When I was a kid I visited a cousin of mine and she had bought a new computer with win 98 an while I was playing with it I dragged the my computer icon over the recycle bin... They banned me forever from touching it
ОтветитьMan that guy wasn't born in 2000
ОтветитьWin 98 is just uglier, slower Windows 10 without all the features. Try getting people to get tasks done in DOS.
ОтветитьThis is giving me anxiety...And I used to Love Win98
ОтветитьI did try out a Windows 98 VM about 5 or 6 years ago, yet I was disappointed when I couldn’t connect online (because at the time I didn’t know you needed a modem to connect to old Internet).
Ответитьwhile I was in ”windows98“ even can't use English。 Chinese (input)
ОтветитьI had Windows 98 for many years, but I never figured out how to get CD audio out of the CD Drives audio jack.
Ответитьwoah we came a long way in 25 yearssss
Ответитьso Anthony is still Anthony, right?
ОтветитьNice video, I use NT 4.0 to long time :D
ОтветитьCeleron.. Vista... Barbara Streisand.....
ОтветитьI think that my first os that I ran was XP really were getting old 😂
Ответитьthat Sony monitor 😍
ОтветитьI did, there is a tiny tiny cable to connect from the cd/dvd drive. That carries the digital sound. Then the front jack on the cd/dvd drive will work properly.
Ответитьsomeone needs better dental
ОтветитьWindows 95 166 Pentium was my first PC 😊
ОтветитьTry Amiga worbench from 1985
ОтветитьWe still have the windows xp stuck in our storeroom i think it still working but never use again 😕
ОтветитьReally fun to see!
ОтветитьI started out with Windows 3.1 and DOS. Had to use DOS Shell to install most games. Lots of time spent playing Dule Nukem 1 & 2 and Commander Keen.
ОтветитьMan ... this was something else. Thank you so much for making this episode. I honestly really miss that time and really nothing brings back that nostalgia like the awesome themes that Win 98 came with. I remember Jungle was my favorite.
Ответитьmy first PC ran "Dos 3.11" then Windows. The Internet had no pictures, text only, let alone video. Hey! I'm still here. You are awesome Linus.
ОтветитьShould have them try to install it. hahaha
Ответитьfeels sooo wrong watching this video again and noticing its in 2160p :D not sure that was available on my old CRT 😂
ОтветитьNow that laptops are small and light enough to fit in a briefcase, I sometimes use a briefcase.
ОтветитьI do wish we could run XFCE on Windows, or rather on the NT kernel.
ОтветитьBro what? I thought Jake was like 30-35 years old.
ОтветитьI totally feel ya on the file sharing over network, i got it working but only after huge hastles, and it was so sensitive that any changes to the network like restarting the PC might affect it.
ОтветитьI want to see someone running Win 3.1 which I though was my forever computer.
Ответитьi cant believe u guys, NO DUKE NUKEM 3D ?
Ответитьrip headphone users
ОтветитьI LOVE THE COMMAND AND CONQUER REFERENCE LMAO XD
God this is such a throwback.
The 6.4GB hard drive is probably a Quantum Bigfoot!
ОтветитьI'm just now watching this,im so behind on my tech news and tech videos :/. My dad recently oassed in juky of this year, he had so much tech from windows 95,98,vista,2000,7,8,10,etc. He had a whole bin of floppy drives with ms-dos games, including The Dig,and the turtlebones.bmp puzzle, monkey island 1 and monkey island 2 on floppy, the lucas arts adventure collection and he had a usb floppy drive, which he was using to transfer all our family photos and videos to his plex server, i even inherited his plex server, routers, modems, his nas and 64 TB worth of movies and tv shows, all 24 seasons of classic doctor who, plus the movies and behind the scenes. Seeing all this brought tears to my eyes and brought me back to where i used to watch him play age of empires too!
ОтветитьI was born 95 but started with Win 95/98 xD The only windows I skipped was Vista
Ответитьtf you mean Jake was born in 2000?
ОтветитьMy school use Win98 until 2006 😑
ОтветитьI spent a lot of time on Windows 98, lolz. My computer then had a Pentium MMx processor and either 2gb or 3gb hard drive😂. i can't remember the ram size. I think it was 32mb or so😅.
I remember playing a couple of games on it 😂. Warcraft 2 battle net edition was a favorite. Looked a lot like that command and conquer shared in this video. I also remember commandos 2 and men in black and so many other games, including DOS games like dangerous Dave 😅.
Oww, i also remember i also made some money with it. I would type college student projects with it and get paid. Word processing was really new and rare back then. My parents were college professors, so i had lots of customers. I had learned how to type with a type writer before my first year in junior high, so i could type really fast😂.
Wow! Really fun memories 😂
…. Windows 3.1 was my first windows experience. Then our school upgraded to 95 in grade 3. Lol
