As far as I see, Turkish people do not like mind questioning jokes (especially heavily ironic jokes or British-style jokes), they usually find them annoying. Turkish people usually react to themselves too by slightly laughing/smiling after making a joke implying that it was a joke (like we cook and we eat together). I think they (we) are usually aware of jokes to be misunderstood. That does not mean Turkish people enjoy only easy-to-understand jokes, but especially in case one from a different culture must consider this.

Turkish should not assume that I am Russian - Ukrainian - Slovanian and so on because I have blond curly hair - I GET SO ANNOYED -that this assumption is made -I tell them I am Irish and still they will want to prove me wrong! I just walk away from such ignorance!
