i hate how ppl just take atsushis past so lightly like- bro has been put through torture beyond comprehension and they barely mention the fact that he probably has eaten dozens of people after he was kicked out of the orphanage. not to mention this guy hallucinates on a daily basis or so. and yet somehow he is joyful in the anime, i could not withstand that at all if i were him.

and the animation is just perfect- i cant describe it

in the official manga supplement it was stated that Atsushi is not a cannibal.

that is actually fucking terrifying my god dude, absolutely horrific-
although i don't think it's actually cannon cause atsushi was starving to death when he met Dazai without knowing about his ability.. Not to mention the fact that except for that one time the tiger killed him in his mind, the tiger had always protected him from danger and harm, so i think if it was eating people it would've been doing that to fill atsushi up. and there is a possibility that the name "Man Eating Tiger" had come from exaggerated rumors after seeing the tiger attacking people.
All-though, I'm not gonna lie, it would be sick as hell if this was cannon. like damn imagine little atsushi being this, omg he's probably gonna have a mental breakdown but i absolutely adore the idea if i'm being honest...

I'm gonna be honest I over analyzed the beginning lyrics and thought atsushi's mom ate his siblings and him and the only reason he survived was because of the tiger. I also thought she forced him into cannibalism as well.

I hated the fact that the anime glossed over his past and didn't go into detail about it. He had so much trauma.
