Excellent video. My equipment is Broncolor to include Pulso A4's, Siros 800 L and Sekponic L-858-U. All my light modifiers are Broncolor. Thanks again for an excellent video.

Value goes to Godox AD 600. Prophoto is not worth the money and I don't know why people continue to pay three times the price for that brand. I honestly don't understand I just don't think it's worth the price. The Siros is also too expensive. Why do people think prophoto amd Siros are worth 3x the cost ?

robert, there is one thing, as far as I am aware (marketing and statements in videos) Broncolor is NOT meant to do a lot of hss, for this they rig a different system, you "patch" multiple Packs together, ie like a wireless A/B group in speedlight terms; but in their case the battery pack, you 'link' them, and number them, so like a complex firework show, each fires in a sequential manner, THAT is the fast duration, max duration of each unit, 4 firing in sequence, so the theory is you fire one, meanwhile the first re-charges it's capacitor bank, so you have no mis-fire, or blank shot, as the charging is done while another is discharging it's assigned burst of light.

If Hensel releases the Foris 1000 it will be a force to reckon with. I shoot outdoors and a lot of times out in CA the conditions are sunny and windy. Add modifiers to the mix and you're asking for trouble especially when you put all that weight on top of a stand. I also hang my Hensel generator off t he ground on a light stand and use a white reflector jammed into the legs of the stand to keep the generator shaded. During Football season the artificial turf can get above 150° and the ambient near 100° so I doubt a monolight could take the heat since it's exposed to the sun. I may shoot for 3 hours and take 600 pictures so the combined heat of usage and ambient conditions will test even the best gear.

Profoto and Broncolor can't touch Godox when it come to price. When price is considered there's only one winner and it begins with G.

Breaks Profoto Air/ Broncolor RFs cries in corner....breaks a Godox xpro trigger...aww fk its only 70$ ;DDD
i think the godoxs glass dome and flashtube is by far the cheapest
but i have to say the broncolor has better light quality since the glass dome is protuding outward same as for godox while profoto is recessed inside *dont like the harsh fallout....and not so wide spread of light....personal preference but the broncolor and godox glass can break easier...trade off while profoto hard to damage

If cost were no option, I'd say Profoto clearly wins... In the commercial world, they're just standard. You can count on people to know them. Interface is important too and theirs is better. It's simpler and universal throughout their lights... 10th stop increments actually comes in super handy when working fast and setting lights too. They're less quirky and solid... but their costs are ridiculous. They charge whatever they want. If Godox can give them a run for their money, I support that. It's nice not worrying about breaking a $2,600 head

No longer trash the back end of AD200 or equivalent other makes with a beer can coozie over the rear 1 1/2 inches on. It is a fairly tight fit and slips only a bit on the flash when dropped from 6 feet attached to a lightstand three times onto a hardwood floor. I tested it.

I started with the Godox brand and I think I'm going to stay with Godox. I was tempted to go with Profoto but Profoto doesn't seem to offer that much more than what you could get with the Godox. I have Godox AD 200pro, 400 pro, and 600 pro. The build quality might not be up to Profoto's standards but it's solid.

I have to disagree with you when you said you would prefer the Godox ad 600 pro screen on the back. I actually dropped my ad 600 pro and it fell on its back. It hit the concrete pretty hard. And the ad 600 pro was still working without any problems. But, the battery itself was broken afterwards. A cheaper replacement than trying to fix the 600 pro. So I'm glad that the screen wasn't on the back or else I would've lost the screen.

And with the screen on the side it gives Godox an advantage since the ad 400 and 600 can have an ac adapter attached to the back for when I'm using them in a studio. Profoto doesn't seem to have this feature which I love so much for studio work. And I already bought a replacement bulb for both the ad 400 and 600 just in case I break the bulb. Easy bulb replacement.

And with Godox releasing the ad 300 pro and ad 100, a photographer has so many choices for strobes. Especially the smaller strobes best for tight spaces like the ad 200 and the new ad 100.

T.1 duration seems to heavily dependent on actual power. If you compare by t.1 according to the watts, they line up much closer.

REALLY nice job breaking down these three strobes. I appreciated the advice of buy one while considering where your photography is headed. That definitely helps me with my choice. Did you experience any thermal issues with the Godox while shooting with it?

Hi Robert, I have a godox ad600 and use it with a neewer soft box and I get really nice true colours. I just bought a Elinchrome silver umbrella and the colours are way off. Even when I mess around with the white balance it just looks really displeasing. Could this be because different brands modifiers are made specifically for their lights and perhaps elinchrome lights are much different to godox? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Part of your analysis should include the unreliability of the Godox batteries. I have 3 sets (of 2) and they just stop taking a charge. It's ridiculous. I wish I had invested more in one of the other systems for reliability because, by the time I pay out another $500 for another set of batteries (I've only had the Godox AD600Pros for 15 months), it will have cost just as much as one of the better systems.

Thank You sooo much! finally the easy info/guide I need! Thank you thank you thank you. I have a question regarding of distance with (light strobe watts) let's say I want to shoot the subject and the light is 5 feet away = 1.5 meters away, is there a rule of thumb or guide that I should understand? I'm too lazy to move the Strobe away/closer to the subject and change the power watts each time to get the result I need or does that depend on the size of the softbox? thank you again Robert

You mentioned you didn’t see much relevance talking about the modelling lamp. I shoot beauty products & fashion indoors, for me & my clients it’s imperative to see how the light will look in relative terms prior to taking the shot so modelling lamp’s realistic representation is very important. The daylight of AD600 is best here as its a true representation of the flash. You said there’s not much to talk about but you could mention if the modelling lamp has a setting which reflects the flash out or just non relative output. Also having a bright modelling lamp can double as a video light.
