I will have to try this. One thing I really do miss from being in Germany was Currywurst mit Pommes. Yum Yum lol
ОтветитьHow long will this sauce keep if i put it in a jar and water bath it?
ОтветитьDankeschön Barbara, a fantastik recipe
ОтветитьCooking currywurst with thick crispy fries today👍🏻Greetings from 🇩🇪
ОтветитьIn East Berlin and East Germany, Currywurst was with a bread roll or a cold mayonnaise potato salad.
ОтветитьPommes Frites is the French name for fried potatoes, but it has Belgium origin.
ОтветитьI really have to give these a try. it' good!
ОтветитьWOW ! I am going to make this !
ОтветитьHappy new year! Blessings to you a d your family😎
ОтветитьHere in Yakima, Wash., USA, there's a sandwich it shop that serves Currywurst dogs. The sauce is great and the "German" sausage is good. Serving it on a roll with chopped onions actually works. I've shared your video with a Facebook group of 200 veterans who served at an outstation on the East German border in the late '60s. They love it.
ОтветитьWell done Frau Barbara, this recipe looks marvellous and reminds me of the many times I visited your homeland and stood at a Shnell Imbiss stand - they also have curry wurst in Austria! Worcestershire Sauce is pronounced woostershire but we often just call it wooster sauce in Alt England.
ОтветитьInteressant!
ОтветитьOne of our nicknames for germans in Great Britain as well as box heads is sausage gobblers did you know that🌭🌭🌭🌭
ОтветитьARE YOU STILL MAKING THESE VIDEOS? YOU SHOULD HAVE STOPPED YEARS AGO - YOU GET IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA AND BLOCK WHAT YOUR HANDS ARE DOING? THE SOUND IS ERRATIC SURGING UP AND DOWN THROUGHOUT THE VIDEO. ANYTHING ELSE STUPID YOU ARE DOING?
ОтветитьCould you add a thickener like arrowroot instead of another can of tomato paste? The paste will change the ratio of spices. I want to make this & I’ll try Arrowroot & see, luckily I have an Aldi’s not to far away. Brats from them will be good, thanks!
ОтветитьGreat, thank you for sharing
ОтветитьInstead of straining the sauce could you not just take the stars out and blitz the sauce then boil to thicken just seem a waste to throw away what is left over?
ОтветитьIn the video you use 1tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce but the recipe on your website says 4tbsp. Which is correct?
Ответитьgott im himmel das schmeck gut. Ich Liebe dich.
ОтветитьI never trust an American where food is concerned. The sausage is extremely important for a currywurst and what you have there is a Bavarian style bratwurst. Also, you seem to throw away all the goodness from the sauce. Instead of using a strainer it would be best to let it all cool down a bit and then put the sauce into a food processor, that way you won't have any or very little waste.
ОтветитьMeanwhile at currywurst stands: "Yeah I usually mix ketchup with some applesauce and curry powder"
ОтветитьI’m a big fan of sausages but not meats. I was born in France. And later on I did a DNA and I got %40 German
ОтветитьHello MGR, quick question, Is it Avocado Oil ? Never heard of Avocado Oil before, is this new?
ОтветитьHow long will the sauce keep in the fridge?
ОтветитьWunderbar! My wife came home from Aldi's today with 4 packages of Brautwurst (they were on sale) . We usually boil them in beer, onions and a few spices and finish them on the grill. But I have heard of Currywurst and your recipe looks amazing so we will try it. Thank you for sharing your cooking videos.
ОтветитьI also cut the bottom out of the tomato paste can so I can simply push the paste through..
ОтветитьNever had in my life but respectable meal thank you
ОтветитьBrown Sugar is not available in Germany, at least not in Bavaria. I made my own with white sugar and molasses.
ОтветитьHold up people.. there’s no Curry sauce?! Smothered in ketchup?!!
ОтветитьShould you only read onions or can you also use white and brown onions ?
ОтветитьHow did you learn English? I have been learning German a few years now and I find it difficult but I love it.
ОтветитьHaven't had this curry since 1977 in Bamberg. I will be making this soon. Thank you.
ОтветитьDas britische Wort ist seltsam ausgeprägt. Es ist, ungefähr: Wuss-ta-shur. Ich weiß, das sieht falsch aus, aber das ist es.
ОтветитьCurrywurst brings back memories when I was stationed in Fulda in FRG with 11th ACR as a medic from 1979 to 1982. I have to try to make your curry sauce. I also have to try out your method of preparing the bratwursts with the little cuts before frying. Sound delicious. 😋
ОтветитьThis is one of my fav things to have at the Christmas market every year!!! I never miss this!!
ОтветитьWow you really did make it from scratch.
ОтветитьI was stationed north of Frankfurt in the 70's while in the army. My best food memory was currywurst from a street vendor. haven't this sense 1979. Will give a try. thanks
ОтветитьThis chicks a beast
ОтветитьHave heard of currywurst but have never tried it. I am not a big catsup lover but maybe these spices will change that.
ОтветитьI was in Frankfurt for 3.5 years. Watched how they made Curyy Wurst at a Schnell Imbiss I vidited regularly. They just put curry 0owdrt in ketchup and simmered it for awhile. That was ok but can't wait to try this authentic version.
Ответитьbigger pan needed
ОтветитьI had these in Germany. There was a stand just outside the hospital in Wiesbaden. Since I was stationed in Italy, i didn’t have a clue what to order and i thought “Hot Dog in ketchup” seemed safe. One bite and I knew it wasn’t a Hot Dog in ketchup and I tried to get it whenever I was back. I so wanted to be stationed in Germany. The stand was the first thing I would look for after the nurse checked me in.
ОтветитьWhy didn't you just simmer the sauce till it reduced down and liquified more before putting it through the sieve? I'm thinking it would have been the right consistency if you did and you may not have needed the tomato paste.
ОтветитьHello are you in the states? My mother is German nd I think I’m gonna try to make this for her
ОтветитьThis recipe looks off the chain, yo! Can't wait to do it at my house. Had you considered usding a food mill with a fine plate to get more of your tomato pulp into your sauce? That would leave the spice pieces behind and bulk up your liquor without resorting to paste and altering your flavor profile.
Ответитьnice video 😎, I have subscribed to your channel.
ОтветитьI just made the sauce. I took out the star of anise and used an immersion blender. That thickens it quite a bit and I only added 1 can of tomato paste. The tomato paste also reduced the heat a bit. It tastes pretty good, I'll try with some wurst for lunch.
ОтветитьHi Barbara! I just found your channel and I'm already a big fan!
Loved the recipe and loved you!Tfs!☺❤
Oh gut. Danke.
