I appreciate the video and listening to your views. However, Middle parts can draw unwanted or misplaced attention to larger noses of ppl who have chosen not to embrace plastic surgery. Also older ppl may have thinning hair due to medical conditions or medication that can be camouflaged by layers. We all want to look fresh stylish and fashionable so how do you solve those issues.

Mehhh nope I love my long layers and curtain bangs and I look great with this hair. I'll do what I want as I age. I know what looks good on me and what doesn't without needing anyone to tell me.

took poll and guys like bouncy blonde long hair not center part and a lot said don’t like bottom straight. They mean ends curled. i explained why .. they shrugged n said want whole thing curled… girl push it back to side is sexiest..

Center parts (no bangs) were the main style in late '60s -'70s, for under 40. A side swept look now - to partly cover any forhead wrinkle!

How do you gracefully grow out gray hair? Is there even a way to do that? I don’t know how you'd pull it off without having the gray roots with darker length for a couple of years at least...

Center parts are unflattering on most people, because it widens the nose and highlights facial asymmetries front and center - honestly I’m a little surprised you’re pushing center parts, probably because you have one yourself so you’re biased. Those of us who are older have already been through past center part trends, either in the late 60’s-70’s or in the mid 00’s.

The side part just over the highest point of the eyebrow arch is the most flattering part in general. I think the advice of playing with your part is very good, but no one should try to push their hair into a center part if they subconsciously feel it’s not as flattering on them. JMO.

The old school rules are ur supposed to cut ur hair grandma short at 40 years of age and that’s not the way it is anymore. 😅neither is a non tatted grandma

Best to come up with your own signature style and just tweak it as you age. Trends are really just for those who don't know their style or have ample money to just blow through clothes, makeup, and accessories every month or so.

You know.. we all have plenty of time in our Sunset years to have Gray hair so why rush it?

Gen Z???? Millennials???? Gen X????? As for a part….the center part was the way to go when I was in middle school and high school, I graduated in 1979. Part your hair wherever you want!

As for gray roots….I made the decision the fall of 2020, to let my silver shine. I went cold turkey beginning 10/31/20, I had shoulder length hair ( it was longer before I started the grow out process). It took me 18-20 months to be fully grown out and a couple of big chops along the way…6+”. So gray roots…. yep, I had them. Did they age 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe, maybe not. Others thought the color variation looked anywhere from interesting to good. It’s all in the eye of the beholder and the person who has the roots.

Menopausal hair and middle parts don't always get along.

I hate to say it but that center part does not look good on some people so do what looks good on you. Half of the new gen who are wearing that center part look horrible with it.

I’m 57 and a retired Hairstylist. We’ve already done the Beachy waves with Farrah Faucett and Pamela Anderson and Heather Lochlear’s was the Queen of dark roots. We’ve all had the middle part too, and got tired of it……that’s why we have the side part now.

We don’t want to go backwards and wear our hair the way we already did for many years. It feels like dressing up for a 70’s party. 💈👩‍🦳💇🏼‍♀️

I think you have failed to mention what (age group) this applies to. For instance, a person aged 30 vs. a person aged 60-70.

I have a cowlick that really prevents me from having a down the center part. 😢 it’s so stubborn!

When young I had dark brown hair. I am now almost all gray. I am a cool skin tone. I have colored my hair light brown and then roots, sandy blond. Nothing seems to be right color. What lighter color hair would look better and more youthful for me without a 2 week root touch up.

I love that your suggestions are essentially just encouraging people to try something new. Doing new things is a key to feeling young and having an exciting life. This should include changes to your personal style if you so desire!

Looking at the comments I don't really think this video was about "why other people think you're old". I believe it is for someone who maybe is bored of the hair they have and want to "update it" - as she said...or looking to refresh their look. We all know that feeling good in your skin and hair is vital and it is also about self expression.I personally want to look good to myself, which is much harder to achieve than pleasing other people.

This video is like “your hair is wrong if it’s not like mine”. Not everyone has to have the same hair as this woman.

I just can't find anything like style cut or color that really works for, I've just been dying it med brown to look as natural as possible to color any Grey roots. I love the curls all the way down… I hate the ends not looking done… personal preference.

Excellent points. I have a longer oval face & I look HORRIBLE with a center part. I'm blessed with cowlicks in the perfect places to make my hair lay nicely but nothing helps a center part on me... can you do a video on how you cut front layers (blending back) on long hair & also how you style your hair

Middle parts add to older womens jowels & is a NO NO

The middle part is also a trend and trust me, it will look very dated soon. Plus, middle parts make some noses look way longer and is just not flattering on everyone.
