Longplay of Shadow the Hedgehog

I finally got to re-do this one and I'm so happy with the end result. The quality is greatly improved and so is the gameplay. I've also made the timecodes look a little cleaner but I can understand they might still not make sense to many. So let me quickly dive into how this game works.

There's 6 stages to the end of the game, but the stages you get to play depend on how you play the previous stages. For almost every level, there's a Hero, Neutral and Dark objective. Most easily explained, if you choose to repeatedly complete the Hero objectives, you'll side with GUN/Sonic to infiltrate Final Doom's base. If you choose to repeatedly complete the Dark objectives, you'll side with Final Doom to infiltrate GUN's base and take the whole police force down. The Neutral path deals with Eggman.

Furtherly, there's one possible stage for Stage 1, there's three for Stage 2 and there's five for Stage 3 onwards. I refer to the final five branches as Dark, Neutral-Dark, Neutral, Neutral-Hero and Hero. Makes sense? Hopefully.

So there's five different stages for Stage 6, but there's actually ten endings. That's because Stage 6 can be completed with an either Hero or Dark objective. You can basically choose to side with Final Doom by playing all stages with a Dark objective and then in Stage 6 you decide to stab him in the back and choose the Hero objective. I know, it's crazy.

The game keeps a library of each unique path you've used to complete the game. Some of the cutscenes are unique to which objective you've chosen to complete the stage with and the library allows you to re-watch just the cutscenes unique to that path. So whilst there's "only" ten endings, there's 326 actual paths you can take apparently. Some madman has WR'd all paths on Twitch. Props to him.

Once all ten endings are gathered in the library, you unlock the "Last Story" which features the real final level and the real final boss. It's funny how it seems to be a recurring theme for these Sonic games to reward the player with something quite satisfying for "100%'ing the game (although some would argue that all 326 paths is the true 100%). Sonic DX, Sonic Battle Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes for the GameCube all feature a final story for completing all the other stories too.

Anyway, I've cut out any repeated content. The timecodes show all stages as well as some stages repeated with a different objective. It does not show all objectives for each stage. Sometimes the Hero objective is to defeat all Dark enemies and the Dark objective is to defeat all Hero enemies. It's just not something worth showing. So if you look at the timecodes and for some paths you only see the 6th stage, you can assume that the first five stages were exactly the same as the previous path.

I'm not sure why people don't like this one it has a bomb of a soundtrack two it a fan favorite character game and it's shadow this game is underrated
