i think the mini game is fun no matter the loot quality. my first advanced lock took me like 15 minutes to solve but ive gotten much better

This is a great way to make people have to actually think. Master locks are harder to figure out than real lock picking

I hope they patch this, it's to much. On controller it's even worse because you can't jump around like how you are clicking you have to cycle threw them making the "short term memory" idea even harder.

To complex to remember for not great rewards

I rage quit because of this one mechanic. Did not work most of the time and could never find enough digiwhatevers. Jeez. The biggest problem it is required to complete several missions. I know of at least 3 and only 10 hours in. So had to abandon 3 missions.

The lockpicking in this game is absolutely intolerable.
Whomever thought this would be a good idea is a sadist.
I'm really hoping they fix or change the whole lockpicking system in an update to make it easier. Though I'm not holding my breath.

[Edit] After some more playing around I have found it a lot easier thanks to your video. So thanks for that! Still stand by my previous comment tho.

I tried seeing if there are any tips to do this faster but after seeing this I decided to download mod :D

I promise you there are ZERO unsolvable puzzles. If you think that, you are either not looking closely enough, or you fucked it up.

Two tips I'd like to share are 1. find the pieces of the puzzle which only have ONE blue ring and put those in place first regardless of the immediacy of it's ring. 2. Solve it backwards. Go inside out. for whatever reason it's a lot easier that way. This way expert is easy but i still have to reload on master often ngl. I hope es6 has a different lock picking system cuz jfc

The locks always have a way to unlock. If you run into a dead end it means you fucked up.

I forgot to save and restarted an entire base raid because way too far in, I burned too many digi’s… and I love it. Thank you Bethesda. A masterpiece game to sink into.

This should not be this fucking muhc of a hassle to just pick a lock in a space game where you cant even explore the planets surface with a land rover or by your ship in atmosphere lol

I thought the ring being blue just means that it works on the current ring, not all rings.

Smarter thing to do and a lot aster:
1 - step one - do a quick save ! 😂
2 - fuk the rings, if you get stuck, just reload ! always you will get a NEW set, in 3-5 reloads you pass trough with no big problems ! Most important, you will ONLY lose ONE pick, since will be just the one who used to open...
I started to do this bc, I confess, it is a bit stupid how hard you get the pick-locks ( you cannot buy more than 3-4 ) and the game design as it is now will spend your picks a lot aster than you can buy them ( most locations have at least 2-3 locks ! I you spend 4-5 or each lock you are screw ! Regrettable design...
