I played the original Zelda in 1989. It was incredible freedom compared to its contemporaries.

Breath of the wild is the best Zelda, and the best game ever made. It felt like it made Zelda into what it was always about – the beauty of exploring nature, the joy of discovery and thrills of getting completely lost. Botw was also the most difficult Zelda since the the original.

Second favourite is Wind Waker.
Least favourite Twilight Princess.

I'm gonna say it. Ocarina of Time was the most groundbreaking Zelda game, but its not the best or my favorite. A Link To the Past is still a perfect game that changed gaming forever (at least for me) and was the first game I really felt had an open world experience where I could explore freely and adventure. I know it's not open in the sense we're used to nowadays, but for its time, I remember being blown away by the map and the non linear design

Moreover imagine if the wonders of discovery and a lack of precedent weren't a human desire.

A Link Between Worlds is such an amazing game. Though not so much the ice palace dungeon that thing can it. though though i really do love that dungeon too

Just to note cell shading as a tech is what made it possible for a BoTW to be played on the switch. Windwaker was way ahead of its time.

Very good video, but fix the audio for future videos. With headphones there is a lag between your voice coming in on the right and left headphone, very disorienting

I thought Miyamoto took inspiration for Zelda from Tom Cruise's Legend. I mean, Cruise's character is basically Link, with shield, sword, the fairies, a kidnapped maiden etc.

Fuck me here I am at work enjoying the video and just watching 'Link to The Past' makes me wish I was home playing that instead 😓

God I hated windwakers graphics.. good game but I was very disappointed in the childish, chonky weird toon link graphics. BotW did a lot better but I'm really not a fan of the overly exaggerated shaped enemies. Some of those characters just look like someone threw play doh at the wall, grabbed it and squeezed.. then there you have it... a character from BotW or windwaker... regardless, I love LoZ so I can only complain so much. Everything else about these games is fantastic so I'll take it.

Link's Awaikening is the very best.
It was the first I ever played. That probably defined my The Legend of Zelda expectations.

Seasons&Ages are the only good justification for selling two titles under a flagship name at the same time (unlike scámmon). Both titles are completely unique and I'd kill to get that scrapped 3rd one aswell

It's hard to imagine Links Awakening and the Oracle series was created after LTTP, I played them reverse and it felt like a natural evolution of style

Minish Cap is easily the most underrated Zelda title ever. I've played the game all the way through at least twice, it's very fun and has the coolest secrets to explore

BOTW has tied Skyrim as my favorite game. Started with AoL, then LttP, LA, then TP & SS. Finally tried OOT & had no interest in it. Finally began LoZ in 2022.
