My home town Stockport - best cinema around lovely comfy seats ❤❤
ОтветитьNot many beggars on that walkabout. Note the scroat on the scooter at 7.53 going the wrong way up a bus lane. Also the pigeon kicker with the strange hair at 8.28. Lots of empty shops now. They are always digging the pavement up.
ОтветитьStockport used to be a lovely busy vibrant town , like most towns there is nothing really to see, drab dirty empty shops , definitely lots or crime and YES I live there.
ОтветитьAnother great video loved the pedestrianised areas and the market keep on walking 👍🚶🏻❤️
ОтветитьI was there a month ago. I'm now back in Libya and although Stockport is not the prettiest, go into Bramhall if you're looking for good good and great shops, it still beats Tripoli!
ОтветитьStockport is my own town or the closest town to me... very rarely do we go there...due to it feels that its run down but, you shown it in a good light 👍
ОтветитьNot the place it used to be 😥
ОтветитьI'm sorry you had to visit, the camera makes it look nicer than it actually is.
ОтветитьIt's a shit hole (I live there) it's dangerous (by far not the safest place to live 😂😂🤯 don't know where that stat was from) and not half as beautiful as it used to be, crime, vandals, theft and the only shops that are open are mostly pound shops and charity shops, they could have made this place great but the council don't care enough, glad you walked around so I don't have to
ОтветитьA very nice video as always most of the town looks new very clean and tidy loved the market a very big ASDA
ОтветитьI used to live in Stockport but left in 1998. I can't believe how much it has changed.
ОтветитьCertainly not a pleasant place to live and I live here if u look at someone the wrong way u get what the f u looking at moody ppl also quite a few shops shut and not in the best condition so please don't go around Stockport making out it's all this and that cuz am telling u it certainly isn't
ОтветитьI've lived here nearly 20 years it has some really good events and I love the market.I am loving seeing the change and new developments.
Also has a really good history.
Yes there is crime but I feel happy living here.
Love the Light cinema and new music venues and restaurants, shops, bars, cafes etc are bringing in people from all over.
Also proud we have filming locations here.
Also a fantastic football stadium and team Stockport County FC.
Born and raised in Stockport, work behind the pyramid too and when in the office was walking regularly through the TC too. Not half a bad town that’s had it’s ups and downs and is certainly on its way up in recent times despite what resident whinge-bags and naysayers say, usually it’s those who can’t accept change and investment being put into the town and who want the place to stay a half empty run down, unpolished heap 😂.
The town is getting long term investment to repopulate and overhaul the existing run down areas and transport routes, has a great football club, good facility’s and some good eateries too in and around the local areas.
Thank you for the nice vid 👍
Shit hole trust me iv lived here all my life
ОтветитьYou missed out underbank! Lots of old buildings up there and usually always a film crew!!😁
ОтветитьGreat video - shame it misses the regeneration of underbank with the new bars and restaurants - looks amazing and is having a lot of footfall! Viva Stockport! UTH!
ОтветитьSome of the new buildings are bit like in any town. The older bit of town is nice. Loads of choice of shops. Most noticable.......NO RUBBISH on the streets. Thumbs up !
ОтветитьI am so glad I was brought up in Stockport before the council make a complete mess of it all -- but I have to congratulate you on making a seriously drab town look like somewhere i would like to visit had I not known exactly what it looks like in real life. I love Stockport but it really is a sh*t-hole.
ОтветитьHello from South Africa. A pleasant interesting walk. Nice clean streets. Thank you.
ОтветитьStockport looks Good and seems like it's a big City 👍
ОтветитьDid that little fat kid try to kick a pigeon?
ОтветитьSafe I hate stocky now don't go unless I really have too. People are friendly? No there not it's full of rough people who take drugs. It used to be really good in the old days.
ОтветитьVery well filmed, and it's nice to see that there might be a chance of an important change to this once pleasant town. Any sort of crime should surely be dealt with by the local police, I would have thought.
ОтветитьWorked there 16 years ago, it has changed since. Still nice to see some parts though.
Ответитьshithole
ОтветитьStockport comes from the name stockford where you walked over the Mersey river.get it right
ОтветитьDon't be put off the town isn't as boring as this video would suggest.
ОтветитьI’ll be honest, Stockport town centre is a dump. It’s terrible and is nothing like what it was once, but, it’ll always be home, and it’ll always have that charm and nostalgia to it. I’ve lived in Stockport my entire life, and I don’t think I could live anywhere else. Say what you want about it, but is home. ❤
ОтветитьLeft Stockport in1965,it has certainly changed.
ОтветитьThis video has been excellently filmed, and with its vivid colours actually makes Stockport look attractive. The sad reality though is that all the nice classical and historic buildings that used to make the town look special have been demolished and replaced with square boxes that have no soul. All the major stores have left Stockport and we are left only with cheap and nasty outlets like Primark. As for litter, films always seem to show places in the best light, but Stockport is as litter strewn as anywhere else these days. Compared to similar towns abroad Stockport is a dump, and in my estimation always will be. Sad! (Stockport born +bred).
ОтветитьNice to see Jewel on the hill, best shop in Stockport! But what a shame you didn’t show Little Underbank.
ОтветитьI live in stockport
ОтветитьLove Stockport my home town but I don’t care for all the red they’ve put up like on the front of the plaza and the new cinema could have been a better choice of colour Everyone I know thinks it’ll date really quickly and look shabby That aside they have improved Stockie and still love to shop there much more than Manchester City centre Thanks for posting X
ОтветитьAnyone live there knows someone called “Muhana Jarjis” ? He’s my uncle. tell him my greetings because we lost contact with him
Ответитьlooks shite
ОтветитьIt's in greater Manchester, & you were joking about the safest place to live in the UK, right? lol
ОтветитьIt brings back the reason why I emigrated !
ОтветитьIt’s like the wild west at night, weeee haaaaa!
ОтветитьNo love for Fishy Brew (or great underbank in the video)? Just the remembered smells of that place takes me back decades.
ОтветитьPrinces Street where Redrock is seems to have changed name, long ago was a busy bustling street with lots of people and shops but times change, the people and shops gone, or empty? So many nail bars? The bridge over the start of The Mersey - at least the merging of the Rivers Goyt and Tame is under there somewhere?
ОтветитьShithole
ОтветитьI grew up in Stockport and had a Saturday job in Freeman Hardy and Willis on Prince’s Street in the 70s.
ОтветитьNothing wrong with my town better then most in country might be abit ugly but still
ОтветитьNice walk down memory lane. I worked at Merseyway Food Market back in 1979 straight out of High School, haven't been back since, it's changed quite a bit. Now living in the States for the past 35 years.
ОтветитьIn the 60s before mersey way was built on, we used to ride up Princess st, through the square, down Mersey way, and repeat, chatting up the girls at every opportunity. Happy Days
ОтветитьDon't believe all you read. Some of the captions are not correct. Does He know His Stockport, or is He confused? Try Google Maps, Street View, for the right answers.
ОтветитьA distopian hell hole the result of years of socialist neglect worse than anything in Communist East Germany, it used to be a pleasant if unremarkable place but in 30 years has been transformed into an absolute shit hole.
ОтветитьI used to pass through Stockport when I lived in Buxton for my studies. Unfortunately I didn't spend much time in the town but people had above average opinions about the place.
