Hi , I have a question , my friend was invited me to a project on GitHub , i accepted and I make my changes on it , I want to push to his repository the work I hv done . If I follow your steps , the changes will pushed on his repository? Please answer sir I get confused

I guess you have missed out on one step to show. When I tried to commit, as dialogue box pop-up " Make sure you configure your 'user.name' and 'user.email' in git."

Exactly what I am searching for

Great detailed explanation and patience for laying out all steps! I will say sometimes when you first commit and push to a repository, you have to "sync" it I guess to open up the stream fully or something. I was trying these steps and it still failed to commit/push after I tried adding the URL from GitHub. Only after I synced it did it work. For as simple a concept Git may be, you run into some infuriating issues and bugs when trying to do some basic tasks with it in certain IDEs or environments.
