I had a 1750 sport and the sump was low out of the box! I did catch it a couple of times on speed bumps and got lucky, you should be fine if you add a guard, loving the build.

Are the engine mounts solid? Noob here ✋ with the intercooler pipework being solid, ie no silicon, put stress on it when the engine revs?

It looks pretty mean with that stance, but I do wonder about the fit of those wheels - won't the tyres hit the arches as soon as you go over a pimple on the road, or does it have no suspension travel?

having looked after 2 allegros of my mum's cars rebuilt one engine and body the seats are crap you will slide out of the seats stop being cheap!! like the Diarrhoea-coloured body mate change that awful colour trust me it's only you who likes the colour its when people like you start using words like patina NO it bloody rust and a lazy way of saying you can't be bothered in restoring it to its glory days, trust me 90 percent think the same its rust and dented it's a sh*t box so make a head turner even though you haven't changed the styling of it a good paint job will make it look great it's like your rusty old charger if I had that on the first day it would be rust free and in the paint shop for a new colour new wheels and you have a show car what I dont get you have spent a lot of money or have you on the engine change and under bonnet conversion so why not go the whole hog and repaint her make it look awesome instead of a crap box with a good engine and crap seats i hated those cars as i had to use one for 6 months while i was rebuilding my mexico mk1 spending a crazy amount of money i had spoke wheel on it center nut knock ons and i made the engine very quick all the biggest mods i could fit on her stage 4 cylinder head road ralley hih lift cams it ticked over a 2700 rpm it thumped so loud out of the 3 inch exhaust as it needed it a 4 branch manifold twin dsoe 40s re jetted bored to 1850 litre a rally gearbox 5 speed in the 1979 it was rare to have a 5 speed limited slip diff was made better with a stronger planet gears and crown wheel was re done i replaced the front end wings and front panel top and valence i changed the passenger strut turret as it was rotten and was cracking so i got a new one from ford thgen i sprayed the body high gloss black and rubbed it down and polished her with crome spoked wheelds it was the only one i know of in its time 4 cibbie fog lights and a spot light for the reverse light or for tail gaters mid you know one could touch me on speed and acceleration even the police in there motorway police Granadas i would of stopped if i knew i was being chaced thank golly i never looked in my re vew mirror they did find me about an hour later as they had all the cars looking for me as i disapeared out of view they couldnt keep up i over took them as they were between two lorries and within 6 seconds i was out of sight they told me so they couldnt clock me over a quarter of a mile i was well over a ton as my speedo needle would go to the max so i took off the stop pin so i would go around again as they would break all the time that cured it but spped ws in acurate after its top speed on the clock was reached which was 120 i think back now all i know it was the quickest car i have ever had for many years untill my volvo t5 2.3 turbo when i put on a bigger turbo and boosted it that car was crazy and very fast it was a lambo killer i see why the police use to use them the sad thing after 15 years of owning my mexico i decided to make a kit car and screpped the body chpping it up poor old FVH4OL you will always be in my heart and that car was a head turner and a bird puller for sure any way johny come on mate paint the car you will be sdo pleased that you did it and put better seats in put in some high back seats at least protect your neck and have some sides to the seat to hold you in around the corners they dont have to be bucket seat just some better seats than those and boy thos horrible coach covered seats look tacky mate i hated that pattern on the coaches i had to repair when i worked for midland red south as an engineer and body man having to paint the busses and coaches on late shift all on my own that seat coloering was so common in the eightys and seventys as you said i was even on train coaches as well yul yuk get some decent second hand seats there are plenty to coose from by all means keep the seats and maybe if you show you car ata a show then fit them for the show. and with a nice coat of paint in a decent colour, not poo coloured for crap's sake haha now that's funny lol.good video the bloke you have doing the job knows his stuff he has done an amazing job. Don't spoil his hard work with the crappy colour and seats. but we know you will.

Great build, you may have already noticed this, looking at the boost pipe on the left it will need some sort of flexability as the engine will move on it’s mounts separately to panel which the intercooler is mounted. Keep up the good work.

I brought the exact same colour all-go Allegro back in the eighties for £650 as my first car. The best thing about it was the comfortable seats that folded down almost flat. Otherwise, it was a rattling disaster.
