This is a feature of macOS designed to compel you to discard this MacBook and purchase a new one with a storage capacity of 1TB or 2TB. If it doesn't exploit users, can Apple survive until now?

for some reason, my "system data" has increased from 137gb which was yesterday to today which was 162gb after i deleted files and emptied my "trash". I did the search in terminal as well but it said no backups was found and just gave me a line of random numbers and letters. With less than 10gb of storage I am closing near the point of unable to use my mac anymore, can someone help?

Wow that's some seriously beautiful software you guys have! I'm very impressed, and it's quite zippy too.

Note:
It's free to have it find the extraneous files, but you have to sign up for a subscription agreement to delete the files or have it examine your RAM usage. Recommend using it as a guide if you're more technically inclined and don't need the hand-holding. Apple 's storage indicator has almost the exact same functionality as the basic software. To access it, just hit the apple icon on upper left of MacOS, click About Mac, and then Storage tab (gray at top right) to have it show you what's eating up disc space. Then it will show you the caches and stuff.
