You are hilarious bro. I keep coming back to the "Worst Ever" because of just how bad these consoles are. Super underrated channel.

Cloud gaming is something that can be great and be the console killer. What is stopping it? That it will cost way more to create and keep stable than shipping stand alone consoles.

Here is a good example. When you play a MMO where they have servers up to have the players interact with each other you can sometimes get dropped frames or disconnections or even login errors. But since you have already downloaded the main software needed for the game itself, the connection doesn't have to be that demanding on transmitting your control inputs, video input and output, sound, graphics, and while all that need to have a stable handshake connection.

Video streaming made CDs nearly useless since you can stream your movies and shows anywhere with a connection. All it needs is to transmit the video and audio. Less demanding than trying to stream a video game that requires the server and the user to both transmit data in real time. With video streaming, they can send you what will be happening in the next five minutes of the movie as a buffer. You cannot do that in video game streaming. That lack of a buffer is what causes the insane lag. Even lag in the title screen.

You keep playing that trailer clip of the woman saying "Those games you already own can deliver Stadia's high-quality gaming experience", but haven't said what I was thinking when I hear that, lol. So, the games I already own...I now have to buy yet again for your console...and you're pitching that as a GOOD thing? 😂 There is a very select amount of people who would do something like that but otherwise, that's not enticing to me.

Stadia should have paid me 9.99$ per month to tell them it probably sucks.

Seems like Google Stadia should've been a bright future for Online Video gaming, but sadly it failed. As a diehard fan of Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, there is ONLY one word that i can say about Google Stadia. PAIN!

I’m a software developer by trade, and it feels like Google brought software development practices to the video game hardware space.

Instead of launching a completed product, they launched the “thinnest slice of value” and built out functionality from there.

This can work for some things, since it allows you to launch a product with limited investment and build new functionality based on customer feedback. But it doesn’t work for everything. And evidentially, Google didn’t realize that this was one instance where it wouldn’t work.

I got a decent enough controller for free along with that garbage. Again, one of those "lucky" ones who Google gave one to for free.

Fyi Microsoft buying all the devs is what’s known as a monopoly and I believe is not only illegal but Microsoft has had a lawsuit back in the days WHICH THEY LOST involving them being a monopoly yet they keep doing it.

Steam remote play is more stable when connecting to a computer thousands of miles away

the part that makes me the most disappointed in stadia is that you pay $60 for a game to play in 1080p but the exact same game for $60 is 4k on console/PC. Luna is way better since they give you games and if you're a prime member (which has a plethora of other benefits like free shipping, video, music, etc). and then Playstation and Xbox integrated cloud gaming with their existing subscription services. If Stadia either made the 4k60fps free OR made it where you don't have to buy the full game, i think they could've done a lot better. luckily, i didn't buy anything stadia related before it nose dived to the underworld.

The thing about Nintendo users people don't seem to understand is: We prefer different types of games!

That praise for Microsoft's approach to making great games (buying up all the parent companies that own those IPs) has aged about as well as Stadia has. Your original point was that Microsoft went straight to the source by buying Zenimax, giving some of those legendary studios free reign and a blank check to make the best games they could.

What Microsoft actually did was just make Bethesda, Arkane, and other talented developers make poorly supported and highly monetized live-service games that crashed and burned almost as badly as Stadia did.

I dont mind playing old games. But things just didnt work with stadia

rewatching and thinking on this, it's even more boneheaded: my area finally got fiber internet in 2023, and it's freakin 90 USD a month. If I could afford 90 bucks a month for internet, I could also afford a high end gaming PC to play all these games.

Google Stadia even in game stocks, is way behind than even Sega CD in terms of 1st party exclusive games.

Ironically, Netflix has now become more like Stadia, where they lower your quality on purpose unless you buy a more expensive subscription and their library is somewhat diminished by all the other companies who started their own streaming services and made everything exclusive lmao. Seems like the days of cheap and convenient streaming are officially over.
