Really enjoying your films, that hide must be an absolute killer for the back! Where I used to live in Berkshire I used to go out in my van looking for roadkill, usually deer, a roe deer would last 3 or 4 days but it had to be staked down or the foxes would drag it away from the hide! Red kite and buzzards couldn't resist coming down for the deer which I would cut open to give them access to the meat !
Ответить❤ it was good video thanks for your video
ОтветитьJust recently got a Sigma 150-600C and love it. Still tinkering with the autofocus range settings to get it as sharp as possible. I'm very new (like a couple of months) to all this photography lark, so videos like yours are really informative for me. See so many Buzzards around where I live but have never managed to catch any worthy images yet, so I've just purchased a pop up hide. Countless hours of sitting around are in my future
ОтветитьSimon just spectacular pics well done,
You sold me on the sigma 👍
Amazing, incredible pictures and video.
ОтветитьMate I just ordered my hide after your video. I am waiting for it hopefully the weather hold. I will be traveling to Norfolk to photograph seals at the coast. Thanks for the content
ОтветитьGreat stuff the effort paid off, good lesson Simon.
ОтветитьI would love to do this especially as I recently recieved a hokki v3 hide but I don't know where to get the bait from? I don't see much roadkill at all anymore
ОтветитьThe creature we call buzzard is a vulture most places. The bird your calling buzzard is some kind of hawk to us.
ОтветитьGot a mat great bit of kit cheers
ОтветитьBrilliant as usual. Simon could you please let me know what size your Deerhunter 3d suit is please. I think we might be of a similar size and I think it might be my next purchase. Also a link would be helpful. Thanks.
ОтветитьWow, this is very beautiful footage! Fantastic video my friend, great work! Thumbs up from me 👍
ОтветитьAnother inspirational video Simon, love the way you share your methods (and your patience and persistence in getting the shot!). Thanks for the gentle nudge on getting the Sigma too which I’ve been thinking about for a while, need to get my backside in gear and my wallet out 😂. Quick question, which software do you use to create your videos? They look so professional. Keep up the great work, can’t wait for the next one! Terry. PS, keep up the good work with the fig rolls too, a proper snack👍😁
ОтветитьA really daft question but do you ask the landowner for permission, ie forestry england, or NT. told you daft question
ОтветитьHey Simon, How are things going? It's been a few weeks since your last video I hope you are well. Perhaps you have a new 500 mm PF on the way to take care of your lens issues with the 600 mil. I am looking forward to you posting a video soon! Greg
ОтветитьAnother cracking video pal, keep um coming 👍
ОтветитьIsn't it strange that my search for walking sticks led me to you. I'm 67, born in England but me Mum and Dad moved us to US when I was 5. Time went on and I became a photographer in the US Navy in 72-75. OMG hasn't camera gear come a long way? We were b&w film back then. I love your videos and now I shall binge away. I have stuck with Canon by the way. AND I wear a silver puzzle ring...bloody hell.
ОтветитьTry a memory foam under your arms. Must of been painful
Ответить8 hello how are you I've just brought my self a four man hide with all the camouflage netting in side the windows for £70 I brought it off market place from a man in Sheffield he's only used it once hermes picked it up this morning so I should receive it hopefully by Saturday or Monday can't wait it looks just like one of yours
ОтветитьFantastic footage! I find it quite interesting that anyone who seems to buy a tragopan hide end up with more than 1 haha. Stumbled upon your stuff whilst researching which hide to buy! seems everyone has its own speciality!
ОтветитьhI Simon
I last messaged you in the buzzard you took 2021 on the old sheep bones, and you gave me a few tips how to capture a photo………I do remember you had to learn about the subject and need patience……… and boy how you need that, so last summer built a shed hide in corner of woodland and have had great photos of the jay sparrow hawk Lotts of smaller birds
I youse the tripod in there but after getting one of your Been bags to rest on terrific and easy to carry the camera around best invention that one
Anyway success got the post set in, found a dead pheasant along the road, and waited 2 days for things to happen then it did there he was and my photos and video clips of the the buzzard are great thanks for the tips
Fantastic video, Simon. Really enjoyed the detail of packing and setting up and then taking it all down at the end of the day. I was a hunter for 62 years and I know what preparation is like. But it all paid of for you with the footage and stills that you got. Glad I didn't miss this one!
ОтветитьJust found your page sone great videos and stunning photos. Keep up the great work.
I have sigma 600 and what a lens it is. what would you say is a good upgrade. Using d850
Stunning shots Simon great reward for all that patience and hard work
ОтветитьYou should change the original foot on your 600. RRS, ProMedia Gear or Kirk feet will make a big difference to the stability of the lens and therefore acuity. Likewise the beanbag/video head arrangement - that's why beanbags only really work for stills.
ОтветитьIn three years, I have never successfully captured this birds, even though they are abundant over here in The Netherlands. Since I now also have a hide, who knows...
Ответитьloved it Simon great start for you ! there is a pair in a field that i pass on my way from work ! each time i stop the car the bigger presumably male fly,s off ! only a couple of dodgy stills with my 70-300 sigma plus from the road the light comes from behind rather than the front il find out the farmer n get permission the adjacent field has sheep in it most of the year ! Stay safe n see u on the next1
ОтветитьHi Simon, well well, its been a while since I dropped in on your videos and you have been a busy lad eh.... that was fab mate... it really was and when you watch it back the word missing from when you cut from the bird to the hide and was explaining the time etc taken to get the shots etc... the word missing was DEDICATION, it was on the edge of your tongue but you just didn't connect but I was saying it .... yep dedication...... ( remember Roy Castle singing it...lol..) no in all seriousness... I think you can sit back watch that and be right proud of yourself mate... you really can... to think I was your 1000 subscriber... and you are hear doing these "proper" vids with ease... bloody hell mate anyone could see that you was buzzin.... well done lad.... proper good job..... I wont leave it so long next time... only reason for missing you was I've been tied up with other stuff... but I'm leaving with a right grin from ear to ear, especially considering when I think back how chuffed you were getting 1k subs.... you couldn't believe it back then.... well you've done it mate.... in my eyes a "proper grand job" cheers... Lynd... aka Yoki....
ОтветитьFantastic Simon you work so hard preparing for the shoot you more than deserve the brilliant results that you get you really must be admired with everything you do thanks so much for sharing happy new year to you
ОтветитьGreat video as always. For your lens issue, firstly i would make sure the ftz adapter is up to date firmware wise, think they have released 2 updates to it so far. Also they have have the ftz v2 which is a new release, dont quote me but im sure it mentioned it works better with older lenses.
ОтветитьLook forward to your videos Simon and this one was worth the wait. Love the practical way you think things through to get the best results possible. Keep 'em coming please.
ОтветитьHi, awesome video. Can you tell me what adapter you used on the MVH500 please ?
ОтветитьFantastic footage..... Love the ground hide
ОтветитьSimon, excellent video and great footage of the buzzard. What power bank do you use for the z6?
ОтветитьSuperb Simon, you won’t regret getting a 500 pf. I’ve just got mine over the older 500 f4 vr because I’m looking to use it on a z611 when I get one currently on the D500 and the af is very fast. Noticed the highish iso on your images perhaps the z6 give cleaner images at higher iso so will help with a f5.6. My Buzzard photography is work in progress currently 👍👍
ОтветитьAbsolutely Magnificent. Brilliant.
ОтветитьHi Simon, Nice work for the 1st one of the year, Happy New year by the way, lovely coloration to your Buzzards, we have allot of much pailer ones on the Somerset levels, it's amazing how their plumage can vary so much. All the best Mike E.
ОтветитьGreat video again Simon. Really chuffed for you I know how hard it is photographing birds of prey can be. 10/10!!
ОтветитьNice video Simon, wanting to do the same myself, how’d you get the food for them?
ОтветитьNice work Simon! Great shots mate, well worth the effort 👍👍👍
ОтветитьGreat Video Simon I`d need a month with a Chiropractor if I`d been in your hide for 2/3 hours never mind 7 hours , I `ve got 2 buzzards in my local woods trouble is theres lots of dog walkers so not much chance of setting a hide up so I`m just getting opportune shots but I`ve got a shot planned in my head with the sunrise and a certain tree one of them sits in now & then so we`ll see how it goes , could I ask which power bank you use I`m after one for our Mull trip in March thanks Simon keep up the good work ps I second the sigma 150-600c great lens for the price I have one
ОтветитьGreat video as ever. Love my Z6ii just hoping for some firmware updates.
ОтветитьI did a little research on that focus issue, Steve Perry had a good video on it. The F mount lenses will be slower with the Z6II. At first I thought it was an issue where you were switching from video to stills. My older 500mm focuses slower if I'm using AF-C instead of AF-s.
ОтветитьHi Simon, great result, your patience paid off and bonus deer, good start to the year. best regards Will.
ОтветитьGreat video again Simon first of many in the new year hope you get the issues with the lenses sorted and hope you and your family have a great new year.
ОтветитьWonderful photographs and video footage Simon , great persistence .Will be interested to know how you get on with the PF if you get it Rich
ОтветитьI have the 500 PF lenses, works well on my D850, D500 and also my Z50 with the FTZ mk1 so you should be fine on the Z6II
ОтветитьAbsolutely cracking captures ! Nice one Simon !
