I'd like to note whilst the game is fantastic and they did redo the voice lines in English, in other languages, French notably, we unfortunately suffer from very poor voice acting compared to the original (thanks to the modders for the old voices)

They had me worried there with the Portraits for the gods and the lackluster to bad voice acting.

But the final release has proven , to me anyway, that they actually care about seriously supporting this game for years to come.

Very good remaster. Aoe2 de quality tier. But mp servers have lots of issues.

The difference between this and an overhyped multiplayer-focused trash like Stormgate is immense.

The first game i bought on release (after checking the steam reviews of course) for ~10 years.
This game was an important part of my youth.
Now that they finished the revival of Age of games, they should focus on Rise of Nations/Rise of Legends or Warcraft (ReReforged) and Starcraft.

great game with slightlywonky ai and missing water textures at some spots.

worst offender is th ebarely worknig multiplayer so if anyone out to buy this for th emultiplayer wait a month or so until they fix it

I hope all these classic RTS remasters cause a resurgence in RTS popularity and we see more new games in the genre. But maybe I'm being too hopeful, with the way people's attention spans are these days...

I love the Retold, I've played the original when I was a kid, and now it's return is a love letter to my childhood. The mini changes they've made (better AI, change the pre-selected minor gods, reusable God powers, change Hathor to Sobek) are sooooo good (and some are uncalled for, like the automatic gathering option). If they ever make a AoM 2, I hope it will depart from from 1 by story and setting. We could see some Japanese, Indian, South-American, African or even as a big bad enemy Lovecraftian factions.

For multiplayer they can probably implement the option to not have rechargeable God powers.

Why did they not bring AOE 3 to console? It is a great game and yes we did get AOE 4 on console but would be great to get the 3rd one also🎉
