Oh man! What a movie it was

People who look up to Andrew and Fletcher are stupid af, sure you can admire certain qualities by ignoring the context and reason for those qualities, but the movie pretty clearly states that Fletcher is an insane person, a bad mentor, and is actively harming those he teaches, both mentally and physically.

And Andrew falls for, idolizes, and excuses Fletchers abuse, he nearly kills himself and hurts those around him all in this pursuit of being remembered.

The final scene of Andrews dad looking at him through the door, he isn't amazed or shocked at his sons talent, he's scared. He knows he's lost his son because of Fletcher's abuse. It's not a happy ending, Fletcher's smile at the end, he knows this entire movie was a game of manipulation, and he knows he's won.

Ummm guys, you know whiplash is not about following your dreams, it's about how obsession can lead us to be lonely and broken right? Neiman most likely ended up like the previous Fletcher student because of all of the abuse he puts him through, on the 250 BPM scene, Neiman is on the correct tempo, but Fletcher still punishes him, because he thinks that abuse will make Neiman into a legendary musician, and that's the thing guys, this is a story of how a teacher who's obsessed into making a legendary musician, abuses a student until the point of no return and accepts the fate that Fletcher decided for him. We should not see whiplash as a story about working hard for your dreams, Neiman doesn't even do it for his dreams, in the end he's just going forward to get Fletcher's approval, so I would suggest you guys to not obsess to the point of thinking this is right, because you could end up victim of a Narcisist like Fletcher

people got to be greedy, you got to believe that your capable of finding a away to have everything. you got to believe that you can pursue greatness and be able to hold the things important to you. It doesn't matter if its possible or realistic, no one has the ability or the experience to have 100% certainty in life, NO ONE. Just go for it, and if it didn't work out than you deal with it and move forward, get back up and try again. If your thinking that you have to cut your soul apart and that you'll end up lonely and miserable just for that greatness than your mistaken. This was cool since I am a drummer myself and have been since the age of 9. I am 33 now, my father got me onto them since he saw me play them once at one of his mates house and we played "keep them separated" by The Offspring. I was just hitting the snare and bass drum and they started to play along with me. I have some cherished memories with my father as he played guitar through my childhood. We made a CD together in a studio when I was just 12yo. I still have that CD. This was motivating. Cheers.
