California native here and I’ve been going to Disneyland since I was a kid. I now go with my own family at least once a year. I remember going to the old California Adventure at least a few times before the update. It was…underwhelming, to the say the least. It was a pleasant experience but there was not much to do and it did feel cheap compared to Disneyland. We usually only spent half a day there and then went back to Disneyland. It’s gotten a lot better now though. Just there thanksgiving 2023 and it’s really fun. Also, they have beer there, so that’s a big plus.

We make fun of the premise but a TEXAS themed park in Texas would have been a huge hit.

I only go and only will go to the first of anything. Why rebuild or screw up a good thing.

Am I crazy, or did the music in the California Adventure commercial sound a bit like the Back to the Future theme?
It's not just me, right?

Instead of cost-cutting AND expanding, Disney should have concentrated on improving the parks it already had.

Every single Disney park expansion starts out as a fantastic idea which then gets its budget slashed by 75% and then turns out to be cheap crap that people hate and then requires even more money than originally budgeted only to make it somewhat acceptable.

I remember visiting Disneyland in 2001. I was very aware of the brand new park next door, but when I looked at what it was, there was no way I’d waste a potential Disney day there. I could not see the point.

I still can't wrap my head around why a California themed amusement park in California is an attractive prospect in any way whatsoever.

Like... why would I go there? I can drive to the real Muscle Beach, Hollywood, etc. from Anaheim in 40 minutes.

The fact that they hired my old boyfriend, who was an extremely selfish and narcissistic person who I kept trying to get away from, to help a little in the opening of California Adventure, was bad luck enough, for the park!! 😂

The California adventure commercial and footage is something I completely remember! I went the first year the park opened and remember it being pretty exciting for me. However, It only took us about half a day to finish up our day. Not enough going on.

Life isn't fair.. but maybe it was better off. Maybe the reason it went down hill for this project, is because we were never deserving of the perfection that would of been, "the tractor yard"

Not gonna lie inhave a lot of nostalgia for the park in its original form. The california theming was great imo (especially since i'm from near there) and i was so sad when they started changing stuff especially when soaring over california became over the world

Bean counters usually ruin everything they touch. Short-term cost cutting results in long-term failure.

It’s kinda funny that Anaheim locals were complaining about traffic, or “save our neighborhoods” when before Disneyland, Anaheim was an orange grove. Literally none of them would be living there without it
